y shape gbox mount

hey keep looking at "y" shaped gbox steady on ebay just wanted to no is that a standard part as my 5 dont have one either it was left off or its an aftermarket thing ?

Not sure really what you mean. Do you mean this part?

If so, then yes it should be fitted as standard. It's located at the front of the gearbox and the end just slots into the subframe. I guess it's to prevent to much rocking motion on the engine mounts.

Yea that's the bit thanks for that  :D  answers my question yea its for stopping the engine moving  to much wen takin up drive and changing gear just wasn't sure if it was an aftermarket part for high powered engines

If that mount is missing, check if the flywheel cover is missing too.
Mine had neither when I got it.
