Another wit a carb & inlet manifold question

Do the water pipes on the carb and inlet manifold act as cooling to or they just for stopping carb icing reason i ask at the mo mine is bypassed straight to the turbo so should i sort it out or leave it will i get any power gains either way wot do other people do

I removed my pipes a while ago.

Last year i gave up and put the carb base ones back on, especially in the winter i found it a pig to drive, taking longer to 'warm up' and stop hunting and cutting out at junctions.

Ok cool so are ya sayin its worth sorting it for just the carb or both ?

The pipes are just there to heat the carb and keep it warm in the cold weather. I hadnt noticed any issues in the winter with mine off. Its just another point of fail in my opinion for the car.

Ok thanks mate see where u are comin from think wot ill do is leave it off if i get problems ill sort it out think that's my best bet
