Removing and re-fitting dashboard advice and tips

If anyone has removed there dash and knows how to do it without using a blow torch and a detonator device   :wink:  it would be much appreciated if you have a few tips on whats the best way to remove it  (and how much of a pain to reconnect the wiring etc) and where the locating points are... and what direction to lift and pull the dash out? so that nothing does 'snap' (is it a one man job or more than one required)

You will need to remove the steering wheel and the upper section of the steering column completely.

Then set about removing as much as the surrounding trim as possible, fuse/relay cover etc. It's been a while since i removed one but i managed it on my own.

Removing is the easy part, you might want an extra pair of hands to help refit it and help routing the wiring etc.

I can't offer any advice as I've never taken one out, but, I'm pretty excited to see what you're going to do with it!

AS Ash said it's fairly simple just make sure you don't brake any of the clips, you will have 3 across the top and you have 1 on either side white ones which you can see when you take the door surround low trim off.

Just remove everything first as Ash saif, centre, console, ash tray section, clock's, steering wheel, etc...
I removed the front seats just for more space to work I have remvoed a few dash's now and takeing seats out seems to be the best way just give you more room to get to fiddly area's.

u will need to pull it firmly to get the 3 clips across the top to relaese (the first time i did it i thought the dash was gunna snap).. also the 1 clip ither end once revealed u can poke a little flat head down the side to relase them so its just the 3 across the top

most the wire harness and bits sit in positions so they all kinda match up wen the dash is in place

Thanks for the info,  I would have wondered how hard you need to pull on this dash without breaking it.  So you pull straight towards you,  not upwards to lift if out?  was just wondering what the clips are like.  Do they sit in a  'slide' type sleeve, like the door trims do.

cheers ash,  I knew I had a Haynes somewhere..  and managed to find it hiding away.  I'll take a look and see if its as easy as it sounds.  Cheers for all the help.
