white smoke
« on: 19:23, Mon 05 September 2011 »
took the raider in fot it's mot today it failed on the back brakes not working quite right, no problem there. The only other thing it got was an advisory for white smoke coming from the exhaust, not sure where the problem is as it is clearly puffing out but i dont think the water level has dropped. any ideas? :?

Nick have a read on this thread. Sounds very similar. Could be because the car has been standing for a while.

Maybe condensation in the exhaust??. Has the car been sitting a while without being run?

Dont worry about it, you can have them.

Need to machine to the top of a piston off, is that something your dad could do?

Marks looking into it and seeing if he can get one done down there.

Did your shaft have any play in it when you replaced the seals? Sometimes rebuilding a turbo isn't as straight forward as fitting new bits

Shaft was spot on when done, it did blow smoke again though after the rebuild, I spoke with the place I had the kit off and they said the shoulders can wear on the shafts causing the rear seal to leak (I didnt rebuild it, my mate from GGR did)
