New Owner Of R5, few problems

ive recently bought an R5 Turbo, and it has a few problems which im unsure about what the causes are

1) there is a knocking noise from bottem end i think as the car is goin up the rev range, after 4K you cant hear it as much, but lower than that it knocks very badly, i think it may be the big end bearings

2) last week i decided to tidy up the engine bay slightly and clean and replace a few vac pipes etc as it was very cluttered, after i put everything back using Haynes manual and a few diagrams off the internet making sure everything was back were it was supposed to be

now the car started spot on with no issues, but upon driving it down the road, it misfires heavily on boost, it wasn't misfiring before

ignore the blue and the yellow wire spread across the bay, thats for the fan as its currently on a manual switch due to couple of broken wires

any help would be appreciated

Can you get a few more detailed pics of the red and white coloured vacumn hoses there, i think thats all wrong but as its hidden by boost hose can't tell for sure where they are all going.

Does need abit of a tidy up under there.

dude the carb top white hoses arent right

The carb top ports are different sizes, the bigger port internally goes to the front of the turbo actuator and the smaller port goes to the metal breather pipework that goes to the back of the turbo elbow and the back turbo actuator port. DO NOT GET THESE THE WRONG WAY ROUND OR IT WILL BOOST UP TO HIGH HEAVEN AND BLOW THE HEADGASKET STRAIGHT AWAY

the front turbo actuator pipe needs to go to just the carb top, and not tee'd into the middle carb port ( for stock fitment/boost)

Or you can remove the white hose and block it and feed the front actuator port from the middle carb port, but then you need to block both carb top ports and remove and block the breather pipe on the back of the turbo (aka "cup mod" this will also tidy up the bay a bit due to less hoses hanging about

it looks like its close to the downpipe but its just the angle of the photo im pretty sure its in that random cable holder on the right there

cold you explain how you wired the fan up to a switch please?

I would be wiring the fan up correctly and not on a switch inside the car.
