Geat selection problem

Fitted a gearbox the other day but it seems that I'm only getting 1st 4th and reverse
and for 5th I have to lift the reverse on the gearstick!?
any ideas lads

I found this job to be pain in the hoop...... U Just undo the bolt which connects the selector rod and the gearstick assembly. And depending on which gears you can/cannot select you need to either rotate the selector rod or move it closer/further away within the sleeve. You will find it easier if someone can assist you, by sitting in the car trying gears while you are underneath, this way you can see how the selector rod reacts to the gearstick movement and make adjustments accordingly. Hope that makes sense......
