As I was busy working earlier (and Talking to Andybond on the blower) I thought of a great idea. How about fitting an RX7 twin turbo unit to a 5? there inline so space shouldnt be a major factor, just not sure on anything else lol.

Any thoughts or am I a little mental? :?  :?

Why would you want to put an even less reliable engine into a GT Turbo  :mrgreen:

Sorry, didnt explain myself right lol. I mean fitting a twin turbo unit not a complete rotary to the 5's lump lol.

I used to have an RX7 used it daily for a year and a half, never missed a beat

If so no point in doing it, the engine will start to struggle to spin 2 turbos. Its been attempted few times and not worth the hassle

Well the thing is that even in supras, when they want to reach 900 bhp+ they remove the twins and install one bigger and lighter VNT. Twin turbos sound awsome but i don't think they would be any useful on tha already straggling engine of an R5.
If u actually wanted this to work, i guess u would need 2 T2s each each installed in 2 ony exhaust pipes, plus superlightweight units in terms of fans ofc.

Good idea though mate. Like your thinking there. shame the 5 engine couldnt handle it!
