Renault 5 GT Turbo / Where to Install LC-1 Wideband Sensor?

Hi, I have just ordered an LC-1 wideband kit and was wondering if anyone else had fitted one of these. I'm not sure where to fit the lambda sensor? Do I fit it in the down pipe after the turbo or will this get too hot and damage the sensor? or do I fit it in the first horizontal part of the exhaust around the area of the underside of the gear stick? If anyone has fitted one it would be nice to see a photo of where you have fitted the sensor. Thanks.

Renault 5 GT Turbo / Brake pedal travels to floor

Hi guys, having trouble with my brakes, got in my car tonight to come home from work and the brake pedal has way too much travel, brakes seem to work but with just too much travel! No fluid leaks that I'm aware either. I went out for a little drive and when I got back on my drive way they seemed to be okay again. Any ideas what the fault could be?

Renault 5 GT Turbo / Rear Wheel Bearings

Hi all, recently my rear wheel bearings became very noisy so I decided to replace both rear bearings and rear discs as the discs were knackered too. But once I fitted them I can still hear a faint rumbling or whining noise. I'm pretty certain that you don't need to grease the rear bearings as they come with no grease in the bearing kit but could someone please correct me if I'm wrong!!! Just not sure if it's the rears or possibly the fronts now, whatever it is there isn't enough play in any of the wheels to give a tell tale sign as to where the noise is coming from. Really I just need to know if I should have greased the rear bearings when fitting them?

Does anyone know which way to adjust for more brake pressure to the rear brakes? I had removed the spring connector for some reason, can't remember why now but anyway; when I re-fitted it I tightened the adjuster nearly all the way would this give me more pressure to the rear brakes or less pressure? You see, I don't know if I have issues with my rear brakes or if the bias valve is just wrongly adjusted!

if there anywhere that sells rebuild kits for brake compensating valves, I think the seals have gone in mine (which is causing a slight leak) and I snapped the spring that fastens it to the rear torsion bar!! Had to fudge it with a cable tie, pretty much all of my car is held together with cable ties...

does anybody know if the front hub assembly is the same on all Renault 5s? It's just that it will be easier to source one from a normal Renault 5 than to find one from an actual Renault 5 turbo!!

To increase the boost by adjusting the actuator rod do I have to lengthen or shorten it?

Renault 5 GT Turbo / Boost take off, carb top or manifold?

I've been reading a lot of posts but can't seem to find the information i need. I plan on running 1 bar of boost as this is what I've read is about max for T2 turbo but where is this measured from? do i measure 1 bar at the manifold or at the carb top?
What is the pressure loss between the top of the carb and the manifold?
Is it best to re jet for 1 bar boost as I don't want to knacker my engine? Would I need to re jet to run 13.5 psi or just up the boost?
Sorry for all the questions, just trying to get it all out the way in one go!!

Renault 5 GT Turbo / compression loss

one of the spark plugs has been crossthreaded into the cylinder head of my 5 and I have recently done a compression test, the cylinder with the dodgy thread shows a considerably lower reading than the other cylinders, i put oil in the cylinder and cranked it again; this gave a good reading the same as the other cylinders, my question is: would putting oil in the cylinder seal around the leaking plug thread in the same way it would seal leaking piston rings? Could it be that I just have a leak from the dodgy thread or does this definitley mean I have low compression because of knackered rings etc? Also, could this be causing it to idle erratically?

Hi, guys, I have a problem with the idle on my 5, it's a phase 2 GTT and the idle does not stay steady. I have replaced the manifold and carb gaskets, also i have replaced the mixture adjustment screw rubber o ring. to be honest i can't remember when it started but it's really starting to bug me. It's fine when i start it up on choke but once i turn the choke off it hunts, it's not by much though, although sometimes the idle speed will sit a little higher than normal. It drives fine apart from the idle.

Renault 5 GT Turbo / Smoke from below carb!

Today I noticed some smoke coming from below the carb; I had the bonnet up, engine running and was revving the car from the carb linkage. Is there any common reason for this that will save me time in diagnosing my problem. I first thought it could be a blocked breather but the smoke is coming from between the rocker cover and carb and there aren't any breather hoses down there! I also thought it was smoke from petrol dripping from the carb but I fixed the leak and it's still happening. Any help would be appreciated.

Renault 5 GT Turbo / Carb set up, help

my r5 was running a little rich so I decided to adjust the air fuel mixture but when I tried to turn the screw it was siezed solid so I changed the part of the carb with the air fuel mixture screw from a spare carb. It started fine but was ticking over alittle high so I turned the tick over down but the lowest it will go is 1000 rpm even with the screw all the way out! Does any one have any idea what needs adjusting as I don't have much experience with setting up carbs. Thanks

Renault 5 GT Turbo / Wiring help, please!

can anyone help me. I need to know where these wires go. The anti perc fan temp sensor on the side of the inlet manifold has no wires connected so I'm assuming that two of these go to that and two go to the green skinny thing pictured but which go where, I think there are a brown a violet a red and a blue.

Also what does this control? (it is behind the left headlight) It looks like it should have a relay in it and I think it may be for the horn but I'm not sure.I think there is an air horn fitted but it's not working.
