Renault 5 GT Turbo / Re: anyone know if this is any good??

you cant get a bhp quote with GPS.  Suggest you drive a 1969 dodge charger with +400bph and then a 5gtt.  Both will be in 7 seconds to a 100km/h but there's 250 bhp difference.

Seems weird

ok I got some good info on this car :

He used a set of stock renault wheels 5,5" ET36 and had them enlarged, only on the outside.  So the inside distance from mouting point to the suspention stays exactly the same!

I did the math and this is what came up :

front : 7" : 10,59cm inside (kept), so 7,19cm outside which now gives ET17
rear 8" : 10,59cm inside (kept), so 9,73 cm outside which now gives ET05 (4,3mm between middle of the wheel and the mouting plate)

Seems to work on his f1, so I'm still wondering what possibilties are out there.

Maybe we should do some tests on several wheel/tire sizes

sure is getting confusing those et values.

Heres a dutch 5 with Tramonts in 14" - 8" wide and ET15 (195/40/14 tires)

or this is nice too, when still on those 7,5x16 borbet a's et20 :

Do you think these got under there without arch work?  I love the way they fill up the rear

Quick question (couldn't find it with the search).

Have another gearbox, shifts good now, BUT reverse has no protection setting, so when I drive off in 1st, I need to be very carefull not to shift it into reverse!

Does this have to do with the gear linkage underneath the shifter?

When I shift the gears, they do feel to be a little out of center and too much on the right side when using the stick, but all gears shift properly.

Any help is welcome!

very intrested in knowin the offset on these.  How far do they come out and don't the tires rub at all?!

Any thoughts on the ET and how much inch the steelies are wide?

I want some wide wheels too, so this is really intresting info to see how this is do-able :!:

17 years in a 5gtt, that's got to be one of the longest terms someone has driven "the same" 5gtt as a daily driver.

Sounds sweet, please post those pictures

weird question maybe, would 2x(7x13") and 2x(8x13") all ET26 fit, with relatively small tires?

Due to the lower ET these might clear on the inside?

I've seen a nice set here for sale locally (bit German-ish; agreed)

Still confused about the possibilities under a 5gt  :?

Stock our cars have a 5,5 wide wheel with ET value 36.

So if you want a wheel that's wider and lager, do you go with a low ET value?

asuming you want 15" wheels that are 8" wide, you'd need an ET value of around 0 in order not to touch the suspension?  Would the outside ring clear the fenders?

Then there's the tire issue, if you go with low small tires, would they help clear the outside, like on some cars you see around?

Anyone every went with wide wheels?  Any thoughts on the subject?  Thanks!
