General Chat / Re: paint job?

ill second that ash
it all really depends on the amount of work theyve got to do self prep is the best way if you know what youre doing and youve got the time/space
wouldnt recommend self prep if youre cars a dark colour like raider blue black etc as the prep has to be perfect or you can see repairs /missed bits from miles off
makesure you shop around as some people like to give quotes depending on the mood they are in and others just generally take the p*ss

General Chat / Re: R5 gtt replica? good/bad?
« on: 14:23, Fri 29 October 2010 »
might be a good idea getting a campus as they generally tend to be in better condition and lower mileage than most gtturbos (plus cheap insurance!) everything is pretty simple to change over all kit etc only thing that would be a pain is the dash but all depends how replica like you wana go
also theres a section on tips when buying in the navigation mate have a look through that
some of it wont be relevant to the campus but itll still be useful

General Chat / Re: rough costs envolved when upping boost?
« on: 12:24, Thu 21 October 2010 »
yeah mate take the dv off bang in a blanking plug and makesure the vacuum hose is removed /blocked up correctly
compressor surge isnt anything to worry about at low levels of boost tbh loads of us on here including myself have binned the dumpvalves and stuck to standard setup but with a cone filter for that nice chatter  :D

aslong as youve only had the head off the engine timing is not interrupted atall due to the cam not being underneath the head
hence the use of the pushrods :D
thats why blowing a headgasket doesnt seem to bother many people on this site haha
just bolt ur head back on get it all in place then refer to above link for setting the tappets
hope this helps

General Chat / Re: PHOTOSHOP: Wind Gordini
« on: 12:32, Fri 15 October 2010 »
ahh notbad mate! used to love using photoshop back in the day did some mental motors on it ended up looing all my hardwork though (damn external harddrive    )
only things i can spot is you need to adjust the contrast and saturation on the wheels white is quite a hard colour to get right
maybe raise it up a touch aswell as you seem to have lost the line of the rear bumper
other than that great work
also the side vent doesnt look bad atall maybe run a highlight line along the top edge just to get that refelction
keep us posted
