welcome.... where in scotland are you based? :D

you could try giving the rebuild a go yourself, they are pretty basic tbh and it would save you a lot of - get yourself a haynes manual 8) .... I had little experience with working on cars before I got my 5 and im currently rebuilding my engine so its not so bad once you get your head into it

Afraid not, I believe he sold it last August or something

I thought I recognised the car..... an old member on here bought it  8)

the guys who know their stuff will tell you to ditch the Group A carb (im not clued up on exactly why but overfuelling at low rpm's/underfuelling at full rpm's springs to mind) so get wideband and a standard carb to start you off as its relativley easy to re-jet.

depending on which turbo you are running, the standard carb will fuel ok for 1 bar (on a T2) so if you are running a bigger turbo you should definetley get someone with the kit to check your afr's before you up the boost some more  8)

i think the fans purpose is to draw cooler air from outside in rather than blow warm air out 8)

its not really a good time of year to sell a car tbh, never mind a 5  :D

being the age they are, I would say that most 5's are either weekend/2nd cars or projects......neither of which is a good thing to sell in winter 8)

also - to advertise on pistonheads you now need to pay

im sure that after winter come spring time you will see more pop up for sale  :D

Renault 5 GT Turbo / Re: smoking turbo ?

phone round or check the websites for the turbo companies like turbo technics, or turbo developments etc - they will give you an indication of whats available for the 5 and roughly what price

Or as Blunty said, he is able to get any turbo you want built - get in touch with him :D  from the pics and feedback I have seen on rtoc -  the work done/price was spot on  :D

welcome to the forum  :D

Good luck in finding a 5...... with a potential 2000 budget you should be able to get your hands on a well sorted 5.

though,  I would highly recommend you joining the rtoc as well as this forum. It has an unbelievable amount of information/knowledge available and there is usually a couple of very well looked after 5's for sale there  8)
