I am not sure I agree on the higher powered cars thing.

The idea behind ALTS is to keep the build up of boost at its maximum all the time , so you dont have to poke and wait.

They are pretty straightforward to install. I have installed a few , and taken out even more.

however , to get a thatcham certificate , they need to be installed by an accredited installer.

Looks like a Ph2 to me, bodily. Can't really make out the fins in the rear arches from that pic. It looks like it's had a good respray at some point as I thought raider blue was only found on raiders!
I see you've got a nice R21 turbo lurking there as well..

It definatly has ph1 rear arches.

I had the same ones on my ph1.

That is a mates 21t. Nice bit of kit - had a decent one myself as well

Multimeter FTW on this one my  friend.

Jump the car , so it idles.

Grab your multimeter ( there a tenner tops ! )

Put the probes over the battery terminals.

Check if you get 13.3 -- > 14.5 v

If you do , load the alternator some more , stick on all the lights , main beam , rear heated window , heater , fans.

Recheck.

I am guessing it will have dropped.

Id go for

Dodgy alternator earth
Dodgy alternator
Shot battery

In that order.

Seats have been replaced.

Its got a GT tuning rear bumper thingy
Front bumper is non OEM

Hi folks ,

I used to have a phase 1 car , really nice it was too. I sold it as I had a baby on the way.
6 years later and a 21 turbo ...
I have bought another car , its on a E plate , and registered in the august.

I am unsure of its phase , as ...

It has phase 2 bodykit , but phase one rear arch kit ( you know with the slats )
It has phase 2 under the rear lights smoothed rounded corners
It has a oil / water cooled turbo
It has the twisty dials for temp on teh center console ( were all cars like that ? )

Any other ways I can tell if I have a phase 1 / 2 car ?

Is the turbo from a Rover 220 Tomcat a straight swap for my standard t2 ?
