WOW! i think this used to be mine! i could be wrong but it defo started with h883 and was a whitey! White is definately the best colour, if it was mine, glad to see she is being put to good use! Ah the memories.....although i did lend it to a mate one day and he raced a saxo to work even though i told him she was leaking oil.......lo and behold she started spewing white spoke.....he politely posted my keys through the door,told me nothing of it and denied all knowledge of bending her.....until he was dropped in it. the lad he was racing was a mate of mine and was like, '' woah she was fast on the A19 this morning...till she started spewing smoke....what were you hammering her for? thought you said she wasnt running very well.......'' havent spoken to this ''mate'' since! haha

Just wanted to update on where i am at with my project........ haha

I have generously been offered a stripped and rubbed down GTX shell and my girlfriend has allowed me to use her garage for the project ( she doesnt use the garage as she is scared of spiders and she believes this is where they breed like in Arachnophobia, the film about spiders!!) Great news for me! I cant pick the car up until the end of may, beginning of june as its in Devon and im in Durham, a difference of about 600miles! me and a mate are planning a surf trip down that neck of the woods once he has finished his exams at uni and as he is from australia and doesnt have a car, he said if i drive he will sort the motion lotion so i ust have to wait it out till june now then i can get cracking! hopefully wont have too many nightmares getting it on a trailer and back up here!

Does anyone know the legal weight you allowed to tow on a trailer with a standard licence that i have held for 8 years? i heard about a mate getting 3 points cos the police said that the weight of the shell he was towing was too much and slapped him with 3 points! dont want to end up with that if i can help it!

Again thanks for the advice.....i seem to remember needing a sun lounger on the side of a few roads the last time i had a 5 GTT....hhhmmmmm. the things we suffer for the cars we love eh?

Will get my hands on a haynes manual too.

will give you a shout when it comes to the engine. Would you be willing to stay up in durham if i put you up and gave you some spending money? wouldnt be for atleast a year. just would be good to know who is up for doing engine stuff on the forum.

Sounds good to me. I've got a 1.9tdi Seat Ibiza thats good on diesel. I dont mind driving and sorting the Durham/Sunderland/Newcastle lot.

If anyone in the newcastle,Durham, Sunderland area has a trailer would they be willing to give a fellow 5er a hand either moving a car for me and if so how much mooolah would you need?
