Renault 5 GT Turbo / lifting the head off
« on: 16:13, Thu 01 October 2009 »
hi guys,
fitting uprated gasket, seem to have followed the advice in the haynes and on this forum to get ready to lift the head off, everything stripped.Head however still seems to be attached by a bracket/something keeping it attached at the back of the manifolds/base.I may need to take off the carb manifold to see?any ideas guys? thanks mark

your saying that the outer is no good as a blanking set up....needs to be flush?or connect it up by replacing the inners?

Renault 5 GT Turbo / T25 Turbo in...need boost help.
« on: 12:40, Tue 07 July 2009 »
Hi Gents,Back for more advice.Fitted another T25 out of rover,no smoke finally...old turbo seals gone.Running standard boost, car now not boosting till 4-4.5k revs and gauge moving only slightly.Help me, being a novice at this, someone explain how it all works, does the actuator need adjustment to up the boost, still runing standard carb, twin port actuator off t2...at least no smoke...mark

im a complete novice mate...enjoying the challenge though...the t25 came off a rover 220,so to me modifying even an oil drain was something new,oil feed wasnt long enough had to get new one made, even turning housings around and fitting/setting up actuator were all new...loving it,disapointed when i got the smoke though....mark
