Renault 5 GT Turbo / Re: volvo turbo conversion info please

Hi guys, whats involved, i know its a straight engine swap with a gtx engine mount.
Do you use the same gearbox.
Do you need the wiring loom and ecu's
Do you need the fuel tank and exhaust for recirc purposes.
What turbos fit on them.
Any help appreciated

Of Curse you need the loom and the ecu's
Dowpipe fits perfect to the R5.From the cat down you can trow everithing away
As for the Fuel tank you cant take it and swap it,obviously,so you'll end up with fuel starvation on an near-empty tank,during acceleration.Therefore the solution is a SurgeTank

The balance of the car will go in the bucket ! You will need some custom designed springs for the heavier nose,if you plan to race the car !
As for the mounts,that's true,you will need some additional mounts build on top between the strut bar (if you have one) and the engine to stop it from moving forward or backwards.Inertia will rip apart the stock rubber !

What suspension do you have on your car (front and rear)? Are this (front axel) KW coilovers?

it is possible,2 friends of mine have done it !
U have to lift the engine with a jack,take the chain off,release every rod from the head,and then the trick is to use a magnet,or bether 8 magnets,the small one used to retrive the nuts from small places,and hold the cups up,so when u take the cam out,they wont fall down in the engine block !
