Sorry guys however Renault is a very minor car manufacturer here and we dont have scrapyards with them. This is why i ask the question here on which starter motor will fit onto the R5 Gtt. Its getting desperate now. I am off the road until i sort this.
I have the sneaking suspicion that the R19 1.7 will fit however i dont want to spend 60 quid from a scrappie to find out it doesnt do the job.
The scrappie is 1200 miles away and wont return it if it doesnt fit....can you understand the dilemma !!   lol

Any help out there?

I read it on here once about the 1.7 Clio starter fitting the R5 and thought it may be a UK car with that motor. Over here we only have the 1.4 and 1.6    probably same as you guys.
I wonder if the person meant a 1.7 R19!!!!

Its amazing that nobody can tell me what other Renaults starters fit directly onto the R5....surely some must :?:

Surely someone know this !!!   [did a search to no avail ]

Possible starters to fit the RSGTT are R19, Clio 1.4 and 1.6....need to know for sure before spending the hard earned. They dont refund if its incorrect part.

I have read on here that the Clio 1.7 starter motor is a great and a straight replacemnt for our R5's.
Is there any other Renault that i should know about that is a straight fit [1.7 Clios are rarish here at the wreckers]

Also is there any tricks i should know about to getting the existing starter motor off the car/

Any tips welcomed :)

Renault 5 GT Turbo / Re: Actuator boost limit?
« on: 11:49, Mon 02 November 2009 »
Cheers for the replies thus far guys. My mechanic has found that the max he could go was 14 psi on the actuator and then without asking has cut the end off th shorten it to be able to "gain more movement"
Still at 14....and i have one very shortened part !!
He says fitting a T piece will easily fix it.

How does one know if you have wastegate flutter?  [it sounds like an elderly medical problem !!    ]

Looks like i'll be getting the GSF one at 132 quid.
Has anyone purchased this one and has it got the oil cooler part with it. The GSF one is a Valeo but trying to make sure its the correct one.
Would hate to send it 12000miles and find out its a standard R5 or something.

Renault 5 GT Turbo / Who has the best priced R5 GTT radiators?
« on: 09:28, Mon 14 September 2009 »
Okey Dokey....after much trying to get something similar here in this country with no success i am now going to buy one from the UK.
Probably will stick to the Valeo item......anybody got any good prices lately.
I have checked with a couple of sites and they all seem to be 132-139 quid.

  Any better prices around ??

Does the R5 really need an oil cooler.?  I know they are nice to have on the track however do they REALLY have to have one?
