the car was smoking on idle though wasnt it.

im still in cuba mate just finishing my 4th week now so back in uk in 3 days and if you want to see smokey cars and cigars this is the place to be

just to add to what mark said carb top reading will normally be around 3psi more than the reading at manifold due to lose of flow through the carb

Most common colour when a turbo has died


oil is always blue due to the refining process it goes through but i understand what your saying to the eye it can look grey a sheet of paper white paper next to the exhaut can help determain the colour

white smoke = water
blue smoke = oil
back smoke =fuel.

you should have 45 psi oil presure at 3500 rpm or there abouts. 14.7 psi to a bar.

a compression check may be required especially of your losing water. the gasket may have gone causing water to leak into the chamber causing running issues. either way white smoke is water so i wouldnt go splashing out on new turbos ect check the basics.

and the oe oil guage is not acurate nor reliable fact

de choking the carb is benificial to those aiming for big times down the pod but most people dont run enough boost for the  carb to be restrictive. the key to good power is good fueling

rusty water is common i had the inside of my block coated to i dont get this problem the only thing is to keep flushing be carefull what you use as you dont want it eating those liner seals

well hopefully im pulling out the dash in the week if i get time and fitting my stack dash and get that wired upand also has anyone else welded a abs ring on there drivesaft for speedo sensor pickup at all

i use bosch 803 greens as for causeing over fueling that is more likely to be the map on the ecu rather than the injectors themselfs.

have you put them on the right way the wires work on resistance so make sure there not touching
