the sensor in the top, has live voltage going to it if i remember correctly, perk fan motors wiring ect ect have caused more than one fire before. if yours has melted you may want to think about checking it over

im assuming your trying to decide between twin leg an single leg stands ?

single leg will do it fine, however they can be quite unstable, you need to be carefull manovering it about loaded up, it can and will tip very easy an it will proper damage the engine.
if you dont have a good flat level floor i strongly advise the twin leg.
also when you tip engine over if the head is still on it will be top heavy, using only the bar to turn/control it will go over, you need to stand side on an control the engine its self

does sound an odd one for sure.
i did have sorta similar thing once, but mine chucked oil out back all the time regardless of what turbo, it gave me oil pressure readings similar to yours
turned out to be an issue with the oil filter, i now will only use genuine o/e filters.
for the cost recon id be changin oil an filter an recheckin pressures before putting nice shiney turbo back on

it is definatly the turbo an not the engine ?

Renault 5 GT Turbo / Re: Oil restrictor needed for T28?

so at no point have you changed the oil and filter ?

how much oil is in it ?  [i know you will read this, an yeah i was thinkin of you !]  :D  :D  :D

the turbo has been buillt by someone proper hasnt it, or is it an ebay diy kit ?

off top of my head thats some good oil pressure, i have tried a few things an i dont think im anywhere near that. if i remember i'll have a look in my notes but i recon there maybe something there

i have used restrictors in oil lines, for a journal bearing turbo i dont advise it

get one already done, as said o/e is the fad at the mo so will be fairly cheap. then in a few years when the fashion goes back around you will either be in fashion for cheap or sell it for a profit. dont worry few years after you'll be able to buy it back cheap when it all goes oe again
