Only parts ull ever have to likly upgrade is the pistons

The liners and con rods as stock can take a CRAPLOAD of power without much problem

The plips are matched.... but theres more than the 5 that uses the same size module, u can rip them out clios etc to

if you go on a scrappy hunt, just be carefull the ir reciever module is ok, as the ariel hole in the roof is directly aboue it.... and they got a habit of leaking and killing the ir sensor

General Chat / Fuel pump relay bridgeing
« on: 00:00, Wed 01 April 2009 »
Having a few issues with my feul pump and am trying to bypass the relay to make sure the pump is ok and it is actully the relay itself thats the problem....

The thing is ive been told to bridge pins 5 and 6 by 1 person, yet haynes say bridge 3 and 5......

Any1 know for sure which pins it actully is please?

Thanks in advance

Also.... every thing ive read so far regarding this relay has stated that the relay itself is black with a gray base..... Mine seems to be white.... Hope ive got the correct 1, is the fuel pump relay the only 6 pin relay found on the right side of the main fuses?

Does it puff out black smoke when you rev it ??

Sparkies wet black - Normally Means heavy overfueling matey.

Carb needs looking @ what size are the carb jets and the main venturi?

Aye it burns some seious fuel 4 sure.

But that said when prima looked at it they said it was running lean.........

OK we replaced the carb gasket.

The plugs look kinda like the 2nd pic in that list - eg all covered in black.

The dizzy cap seems fine.

Im starting to become very suspicious of the carb tho

Id guess the car is useing almost DOUBLE the fuel it should be

ill do a spark test today, but if its not that

What else could it be?

Somin i forgot to mention, the guy who helped the rebuild (who is a mechanic) belives it could be running on 3 cylinders, from how it sounds.

In the lower gears there is a strong petrol smell.

The centre pin in the distributer cap is "stuck in" should this be like that?

does that change what you guys think could be wrong
