just saw a white 5 driving along york road in wansworth. I stuck my arm out of a Mitsy L200 4x4 and gave the driver the thumbs up :lol:

The Gaz coilovers and rear shocks on my 5 are shot to bits and I'm looking for a cheaper alternative to a new Gaz kit. I may get them rebuilt but was wondering if anyone has used the Apex Sport kit with 35mm lowering springs?

my brake peddle is very light for the first 1-2 inches of travel, and there is not much feeling when the brakes start to bite unless i really push hard on the peddle, I want the peddle to have more resistance on the down stroke and bite a bit harder what can I do?

Renault 5 GT Turbo / Seized Wishbone Bolt

Got stuck removing the wishbones today, rear bolts on boths side are seized on the bush inner metal part. The nuts came off ok, but the bolts are proper stuck.

Any ideas on freeing them up?

I'm currently looking at removing the front bumper so I can get a bar at the right angle to knock the shit out of them with a hammer...  :x

Think my tracking is a bit out, wondering if I take it to a garage to have looked at, does having the car lowered and on aftermarket alloys effect the settings from the standard factory set up?

Renault 5 GT Turbo / T25 Turbo

I just picked up 2nd hand Turbo very cheap, its a Turbo Technics stage 3 T25/T25 .48 A/R comp and .49 A/R exhaust.

Does any one have any experience with this unit, I was looking for a T25/T2 for normal road driving on the standard cam, but as it was cheap I went for it. Doing some research I have read that a cam change may be needed with the T25/T25? how laggy are these units as well?

I also want to get some nice braided hose to go on the top turbo feed, what size fitting is it?

Hey everyone, to all people that like a massive street rave get down to Ledbury Road, Notting Hill this Sunday and Monday, where I will have my sound system set up on the street as part of the Notting Hill Carnival.

I supply the system for Pinapple Tribe, who play all good rave music, techno, breaks, drum and bass, dub step etc

After not seeing any 5's since I got mine in Jan, I see a load at the surrey meet last night and then I saw a Blue R5 this morning on the way to work going up the A3 towards tolworth. any one on here?

Renault 5 GT Turbo / Oil deposits in hoses and missfire

couple of problems this week  

I took the turbo to intercooler hose off the other day and have oil deposits smeared up the turbo end of the hose. what does this mean?

turbo is the standard unit that came with the car 105000 miles ago so i'm guessing its most likely on the way out...


Also i'm getting missfire/spluttering when going on positive boost 2-3psi upwards, on first start up untill the car gets warm, then it runs ok. with all the rain recently, I though it might be water getting into the air filter via the bonnet vent as it feels a bit like a bad fuel mix not igniting but i took the filter hose off and its dry. Spark plug gap maybe?

As I enjoy looking at the other posts of people car's I thought I start one for my R5 as well

I've done a fair bit since buying back in Jan 2011, mostly fixing, few add ons changing bits around etc as most of the mods were done by previous owners but any stuff i do i'll stick on here...

When I purchased it looked like this:

since buying i've raised the front end about 50mm and the back 30mm to get some travel back in the shocks, fixed lots of faulty electronics and done a load of other stuff, i'll list all this next...
