well i decided to take a trip to Leeds this weekend which is 2 n a half hours.

I got there with no problems.

on the way back as i was pulling in to the services i notices alot of smoke coming from my engine, in my hurry to put the fire aout i smacked my bumper on a curb fukin ruinin it. the turbo heat shield had caught alight!

um ok, how to explain

when i put it on full boost in 4th or 5th it will judder once or twice and the continue to drive fine.

feels a little like i run over something (dw im not)

sorry but thats the best way i can describe it!

any1 got any idea what it could be

just out of interest.

If your R5 has the little bits done like induction kit and, better intercooler and is running at 14psi,  what BHP is it likely to be producing?

hey guys if i want to fit a dump valve, what do i need to do to the recirculating one?

is it just a case of blocking the hose that goes onto the boost pipe?

Hey guys,

This is my R5 i purchased it at the end of May 2008.
I love it, what a great drive :!:  
Im trying to keep the exterior and interior looking quite standard as i think they look great this way, but with little changes like wheels etc.

So far i have fitted a copper coil radiator and a K-tec alloy intercooler. I have changed the standard turbo/carb hoses for Samco hoses, and added red vacuum hoses. I have also fitted stainless steel boost pipes with dump valve. Oh and a big induction kit.

I have replaced the seat bolster due to it being collapsed. added a independent boost gage. But mainly just tidying up :!:


I have fitted Khan racing alloys. And am jus waiting to paint up my new doors and bad-boy bonnet due to my original doors being rusty as hell:!:
And am looking for a garage to lower the rear :!:

got a new bonnet n until i can afford the proper paint i did it matt black! back to my old Dub days

i tried upping the boost, i tried turning the bold on the actuator and now the whole little rod turns and i now hav no boost at all

whats going on????

Hi guys.

What do i need to do to up my boost?

I have changed my boost hoses, my turbo/carb hoses, put on an alloy intercooler with bigger capacity and changed the rad for a copper coil one.

Im running 10psi atm and its running sweet!!!

My only concern is that i dont want to kill the engine, obviously!

I think id need to change my jets if i want to up the boost. but what else if i wana make sure it doest die?

hey guys today i went to a garage that had over 13 whole GTT's and about 50 GTT's worth of parts.

all the parts are at reasonable prices!

there website says they sell some parts but its honestly like aladins cave there.

just call them up and ask what they have, or tel um what you need.

you may all know about this place but im new and wanted to share,lol.

hey guys i recently fitted a K-tec intercooler and replaced soome vacuum hosing. and now i have more turbo lag, any ideas?

also what mixture do you need for the coolant?

Hey there!
Its taken me long enough but i've finally purchased an R5!!!
Its a tungsten grey Phase 2! when i got it she was completely standard.
I have just put a K-tec intercooler on with a copper core radiator. I have also put on an induction kit and replaced the Turbo/carb hoses with samco ones. Its getting lowered 50mm on springs atm until i can afford coilovers.

i have heard mixed comment about the R5 engine!
can you up the boost safely? and will the lil bits ive done so far help make the engine run safer?
also what do you think i should look to do next?

im still learning! lol
