Your cars / New Car not a Renault

Well I have had enough of R5 GTT's been playing with them for the last 16 years just had enough of them now lack of time due to the family, work and age it's time I moved on. So the blue Rwd R5 has now gone to a new home.  Unfortunatly I basically gave the car away :-(.  I have gone and bought myself a Jap car :-) 

374bhp a few mods but to be honest it's quick enough for me

For those that know it's the normal location for those that don't - Social club lower kingswood on the A217, KT20 6SZ just off junction 8 of the M25. Arrival is normally 7pm onwards.

She's pretty straight has a few good mods, the car will be track car based and the plan is to turbo it aswell :mrgreen:

Events/Shows/Cruises / Fete day for the 5's or Renault Turbo's Surrey 04/06/2012

Thought I would let peeps know that Philr5t and all rtoc members have been invited to have our own sectioned off area on a pavilion for our renaults on a fete day, its on bank holiday monday the 4th of june 2012 which unfortunatly falls on the same weekend as national day in france i know some RTOC members are going to france but you may be back by the monday if you feel like bringing your car down to show it off for the day. It will be from 12.30pm-4.30pm but we will need to be there earlier to get ourselves set up, this would be a great way for all of us to show the rest of the world where all our money and time goes  i was thinking of arranging some trophies to be given out on the day similar to last national day just to get more response let me know what you guys think. There is no cost involved as we have been invited to this day, for those that come to the surrey meet once a month will know the area and its 200 yards from our normal meeting place and for those that want to come but dont know where it is for now all i can say is its 2 minutes from junction 8 on the m25.

maybe when it finishes at 4.30pm if everyone wants to we could go back to the surrey meet social club and i will do a BBQ and we can all have a beer or soft drink as well, all friends and family are welcome its an open day to public with other events going on. please put your name down under mine if your able to come as i really need to know numbers. cheers all for reading this book

Saw you this morning on the A281 just going past the queens head pub in Horsham you were heading out of down, I gave you the thumbs up I was in the Green land rover discovery.

Not seen another 5 GTT around these parts fro a long time other than mine and Steve's

Renault 5 GT Turbo / JB3 Gearbox input bearing removal and refitting any advice?

Anyone ever replaced a JB3 gearbox input shaft bearing themselves? as per title I am wondering if anyone has done this and if so how hard is it to do and any advice?? Also does anyone have the renault guide for stripping and torque settings for the JB3 gearbox?


I am fearful that I will just end up buying another gearbox that has the same problem or worse. The gearbox I have is in good condition other than the death rattle PLUS noise on idle (not clutch bearing as new putting this down to input shaft bearing).

Trying to keep my options open?

Renault 5 GT Turbo / Outer windscreen rubber surrond?

This is a bit of an odd question but has anyone ever removed the windscreen outer rubber surround and then put it back in Place??? is it possible to remove does it damage it? and can it go back into place??

Only ask as I am getting the vinyl wrapping done this week and am wanting best finish possible so i have already removed everything like wiper arms, washers and wiper mechanism and the aerial so all I have is holes now I have a sun roof in place and obviously am going to leave this in place when done
