I would say no, purely due to the fact that the car would be heavier with the F7P, plus the turbo is more fun IMO.
There prob wouldn't be alot in it, C1J @ 1 bar would be around 130-140 hp, F7P around the same power, but like I say the turbo, I would think just give it the edge.
I have had a GTT with F7P & williams manifold, good fun but nothing like the standard engine @ a bar IMO.

Thanks, i am definately gonna do turbo on my F7P... but for now i will run the stock engine, with intake and exhaust changes, and 100bhp of NOS...

I think that in terms of reliability it will be far better then C1J.... and when i need power there is always a NOS button )

Hi, is the remapped F7p with full exhaust and intake faster inside the GTT then original C1J @ 1bar  and strapped cooler, and exhaust?

Is there anyone that has done 1/4 mile with std f7p gtt ? )

Yes, you can keep the box as above, you need the GTX engine mount for the front & also the GTX or Volvo alternator mounting to block.
You can re-drill the GTT mount to make it fit, I had to & it worked ok, I had to elongate the holes I made to make it sit right, maybe get some cardboard to get the pattern then drill once, unlike me  :mrgreen:

Ok guys, i finally got an engine for my GTT, after long time. Can anyone tell me how to fit the engine into my GTT ? Can i keep the GTT gearbox ?

What Mounts i need for conversion ? pictures would be great if u have guys!

With 300bhp, goos set of drag slicks and you can drive it right there no reason why you can't hit an 11 with that power, i'd expect to see terminal speeds of around 120mph too

For the gearbox you will be almost getting close to the limit with that power although its torque that really kills the box, if keeping to that level you should be fine

Going indiviual throttle bodies alittle excessive as the standard throttle body has been proven to work up to 400bhp, with mates car (turbo ted) being developed more with the standard throttle body in situ i'm sure it'll do more. Think he worked out the combined area of noth throats is around 65mm so plenty big enough

Thanks, i am thinking now on what is more chep for me, or which route to go for... N/A with NOS or turbo it...
I was thinking of going N/a route, by fitting forged hi comp pistons - a good set of cams, individual throttle bodies, williams 2.0l head and standalone ecu..
I guess i will be able to get out 190~200 BHP, and just go for 100bhp shot of nos...

I am guessing the N/a route will be more reliable engine... As the turbo is hard to run for everyday anyway...

What to u think mate?

Coops (tungy valver) with a clio valver turbo is running about 260-270bhp and he ran @ pod recently 12.8's

the red one in the link is also turbo f7p and I think it had gearbox troubles both these cars run the fastvchips turbo chips, if you have standalone you will have oppetunity for much better mapping

Very nice, but of course R5 is much lighter then clio, so i think with that sort of power you could run under 12.5sec..
If i'd go for turbo F7p spec i would go for:

2.0l williams head
decent cams,
forged pistons and rods
individual throttle bodies with airbox,
turbo GT2876 or GT30
Stanalone ECU
 

I donno how reliable the engine will be @300bhp or more..
I am not sure if the std gearbox can hold all that power... What do you think??

Well it's all down to decent fueling, charge temps, mapping and bolt on goodies like turbo etc... turbo ted on RTOC is running just shy of 400bhp, where as myelf and a few other other were around the 240-280bhp on a fastchips high boost chip

Hmm, i have on  my own VEMS Racing ecu, for it already, so all i need is the actual turbo kit and forged pistons and rods.
I have no idea how much power on a GTT is actually drivable.
what sort of 1/4 mile time can i look at with 300bhp? including drag slicks etc... ?

I am making a weekend car, that i can take out and street race with it.. Highway etc... and drag 1/4 mile as well So i need a lot of power, so i can fuck some of my friend's m3's an shit hahahaha

You want to go turbo then mate, lower comp abit, set of cams, nice manifold and turbo, decent ECU then run a fair bit of boost  

HMMM THAT SOUNDS COOL How much power can F7P hold on? I am concidering fitting the forged pistons and rods, so how much can i get from such engine, to be on the safe side?

On standard engine i wouldn't personally go anymore than 50bhp hit even if it is set up correctly, if you develop the engine to take more then keep squirting it in mate  

I was thinking either to go for the turbo conversion, or hi comp forged pistons, cams, head work, throttle bodies standalone ecu and  100-150hp of Nos...

I donno, what do u think its better for F7p ?

Yes the clio and 19 16v engine are pretty much identical so all parts will swap over

You can use the gt box on the 16v engine or even stick with the 19 gearbox but either way the 5 driveshafts can be used

Nice, but for the start, i want to refresh the engine, and run it with NOS, how much HP of NOS should i run on the stock engine ?
I want to run it with nos, untill i get the money needed for turbo conversion, and standlone ECU etc..

Can u tell me, is the engine 1.8 16v the same as clio 16v ? Cause i want to order Forged pistons and con rods for it, so i am thinking if it is the same exactly ?

hi all,

I have a renault 19 Sport 16v with 1.8 engine inside.
I wanna fit the engine into my GTT,

What do i need to do to engine mounts, in order to fit the engine inside? Is the gearbox the same as GTT''s ?

What do i do with driveshafts? Do i keep the GTT's or do i use 16v's  ??

Guys i need informations as much as u can send me, cause i am taking the enigne out of R19 by the end of the week.

HI guys i have got a wrecked Renault 19 sport 1.8 16v, Can i fit the brakes from it onto R5 GTT ?
If i can what needs to be changed ??

Believe the 19 16v has same brakes as the Clio 16v, the caliper is identical to gt turbo only the caliper carrier is little longer so you can fit the slightly bigger diameter disc (259mm).
You'll need a minimum of 14" wheels on the 5 if you do go for them.

Thanks mark, but which brakes you recommend for the GTT ? I have seen some K-tec kits, i donno if they good. Do you know any ebay shops that supply good brakes for the good value of money ?
