thanks for all the advice guys,
i'll sort it out when i get the chance, probly just bridge them together and bypass the turbo core for now! then i'll give the hole system a good flush out and change the hose, probly take the waterpump apart and check for anymore blockages or gunk aswell!

no waters leaking out off the hose so i think it wont blow the head gasket yet, but i dont wana be riskin that for a bill mate!

thanks mate, i'll have to change the hose asap. could the water pump be at fault aswell? how can i check to see if the water pump is work propably?

Renault 5 GT Turbo / blocked hose

i was giving my engine a look over today and noticed a little slit in a hose that goes from the water pump to the turbo, so i took it off to have a look and the slit hadnt gone all the way thru the hose, but the hose is completely blocked with dirt and shite.
what problems can this cause?
and how could this have happened?
 any help is much appreciated

thanks for the all the advis guys,
i took the carb apart, cleaned out all the jets and i changed the carb top to a known working one, incase the float wasnt working propably, thanks schwartz.

now the car drives fine threw the gears, but still at tickover it isnt right! iv managed to get it ticking over at 1000 but the revs keep dipping slightly and i can hear the exhaust popping!
could this have something to do with the timing or maybe a valve sticking?
also i noticed a small crack on the carb elbow at the side under the screw!

hey people,

iv fitted a second hand refurbished carb to my r5 yesterday, the old one was knacked and the car was running rich. As far as i know iv put all the pipes back the way there ment to be.
i started the car and played around with the idle screw and the mixture screw to get it somewhat right.
the car starts fine but when its ticking over it judders and splutters every 10seconds or somethin. when i drive the car it stil judders as if its misfiring.
any ideas why this is happening?

also is was checking all the fuses and came across this white relay (i think) thats just dangling there..

yeah thanks alot steve, i think i am gona go for the t2 then up the boost alittle! where abouts is this the air corrector? i need to get myself a haynes manual!
if i change the jet what would you suggest change it to?

yeah, i suppose the garret t2 i'l take into conideration actually, but i do feel the need for abit more umpth!
just dont want 2 loose any relieablity the cars got!
would you recomend changin to an uprated head gasket anyway to be safe or is that unnessesary if i go for a new t2?  

how much we looking at for the uprated clutch n would it be best to also get larger jets on the carb?

rite guys,
 iv got a gtt in good nick with 52000 on the clock, standard engine and carb set up, except pipercross induction kit and bailey bv.
but resently iv noticed a tiny bit of oil around the dv!
could this probably be my turbo seals?

for a while iv been interested in purchasing a t25 .47.
with my engine being as standard as it is and a daily runner i need it to be reliable i dont rag the car round everywhere, only now and again when its needed . is there anything thats realy essential to do if i change to this turbo? uprated head gasket, seperate oil cooler ect?

hi everyone, iv just bort a refurbished carb for the motor, and it has a rattle in it some where! is it ment to have a rattle or is there something wrong?

hey,
my car seems to have a whinning sound when the engine is turned on and it just stays on constently aswel. it sounds to me like its comein from somewhere uder the car! i was thinkin that it mite be the fuel pump makin the sound but not sure. any ideas?
