hi guys im the owner of a renault 5 1990 :) non turbo :( its relatively low mileage - 86,000.
want to go turbo but need advice and guides on prices ?? headgaskets being replaced at the moment with new valve stem seals. new dizzy, rotor arm, ignition barrel ht leads and oil.

Welcome along mate. :D
Turbo conversion on the campus is easy, done 3 myself. You looking to doing it yourself?
-
yeah all works being done by me, so what things do i need to do and what price am i looking at ? not to make it sound simple !
-
Well off top of my head you will need
-complete engine with carb and turbo
-all hoses
-rad
-intercooler
-exhaust system
-fuel pump
-fuel pressure regulator
-fuel sender unit
-AEI unit
-various brackets
There prob few more bits but all depends on what you want to change and how much power you want run
Price wise is really how much you can pick it all up for, sometimes for pennies sometimes cost's little more
If want abit of insperation here's pic of my old one which i built last year

ok, that does look good! so i need another engine ? rather than mine - 1237cc 1990 ? the parts cant just be put onto the existing engine?
if so whats the best way to get hold of bits as im in guernsey

No the standard 1237cc engine isn't buillt up for turboing, compression too high for starters, oil pump not strong enough and few other bits. Its easier to drop a complete turbo engine in as its eaiser and more up to the job.
Most can be sourced off ebay or when he's back fromholiday have a word with Mike (phase 1 16v turbo), he runs gt turbo spares and will have absolutely everything you will need. He;s based near southampton too so abit eaiser for you.
Say i sent you and he'll sort you out, if you get stuck i'll pm his number for you so you can ring when he's back
-
right i see will need to save some money aside or might just sort out the renault , back to its former glory.
i need the little spline bit the windscreen wiper arm attaches to.
drivers wing mirror. manual in grey
heater fan
radiator. :)

welcome to the club mate :)
i myself have done the camparse to turbo conversion too,i had to get all bits (listed above) and some more bits ie relays for the fuel pump and you will need the driver side interior loom for the fuel pump. when i done mine i chanced everything subframe , torsion bar, suspension, brakes, gearbox, driveshafts, exhaust system, electric window motors. getting the parts shouldnt be to hard most members have spares

flip you didnt do it by half measures !
after considering the different parts of it im deciding to just restore the renault 5 to normal.
this way i can then maybe sell it on and start a turbo build.
im really struggling for parts atm though where can i go
as renault are asking stupid prices like £70 for wing mirror casing etc...
