Stick the spec up as well :)

Photobucket for uploading your piccies. You upload them into photobucket from your PC then use the image tags or on some forums direct link tags to link into your thread.
Use the test area of the forum to have a play with it rather than tying here 1st till you know you have it right.

If you hover over the piccies in photobucket a drop down will appear, then click on the img code & copy it, then post it into the thread you want, I tab so I have both sites open, then you can go back easily without loosing the page.. it should look like this but without the --

main prob currently is body work

bonnet

as can be seen rather chiped on front edge and must have had a lot of filler in at some point and the heat has made it rise up as the bonnet has bumps all over

mirror

lifting slightly not bad just un sightly

top of door

bit scabby

rear quarter

agian just surface rust really

the worst culprit
(http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/ad182/ifindoubtflatout/SUNROOF2.jpg)

what do you do if your sunroof leaks, pop to b & q and buy out all there roof and gutter sealant ffs!!

bit of paint lift again but not bad, its had 3 colour changes in its life!

the colour and large fmic made me buy it i'v always had a soft spot for large intercoolers, il post a pic of my old astra later

evidence of its many colours, door card removed as window wont go up under its own steam

custom cream carpet added to back to tidy it up and of course keep it looking street

obviously had a cheap doors shut windows masked over respray and negeleted door shuts etc so its been done in black with a rattle can, i wondered why it looked flacky! proper job

neighbours new car  8)  warrented a pic its stunning!!

plans are really to remove sunroof and have it plated and filled spray all the rusty bits, sort bonnet and spray, spray inside doors and shuts etc, then its moving on to engine to get a bit more power, got new oil and fiter and going to thourghly flush cooling system as its not very clean, got new external oil cooler to fit aswell but will keep posted! let me no what you think good or bad

main prob is bodywork

You'd never know from the 1st 4 pics! It's a shame someone stuck loads of mastic all over the sunroof instead of sorting the leak properly. Good luck getting it plated - could possibly be quite a job getting that perfect.
With a little bit of work you quite a decent 5 there. :D

Yeah looks good, shame about the roof, you may be better trying to sort the sunroof out as the roof is so thin it will prob distort if you try to seam it, spot & fill may work but then it will only crack again at some point due to the flex in the roof
Shame someone did a half arsed job on painting it as well :(

Post by: r5matt on 15:02, Tue 25 August 2009
most leaking sun roofs are just down to the rubber seals perishing , top tip save some money and get down to Renault they still sell the rubber seals , will be oh so much easyer than trying to identify the blue , i went into a paint shop for my white renault and asked for a colour chart , they handed me over 5000 slips of white ........ besides will be cheaper , Good luck with the project tho!

Post by: baby blue r5 gtt on 19:12, Tue 25 August 2009
prob bond a panel in and fill so shouldnt warp the roof, as for colour local paint supplier should be able to mix it up, not sure if its gordini blue as found on the clio 182 cup?
Title:
Post by: r5matt on 19:45, Tue 25 August 2009
depends wether its 2 pac paint ! Remember oil resin paints have changed to water based! and theres been some real colour matching issues but v, best of luck ! And Keep the sun Roof IMO they look s'wicked
Title:
Post by: baby blue r5 gtt on 21:19, Tue 25 August 2009
yea its 2pac and can still get 2pac so should be ok, does it look like standard fit sunroof? know any one that has one spare? and how easy are they to change may just replace as the one in isnt saveable due to the amount of random crap filling it up

possibly as a sunroof was not factory std they were all dealer fitted so you may get one still from main dealer.if its just the seal thats failing there are places that will make a seal for you

and also they didnt treat under the rubber seal were they cut it out leaving exposed metal hence possibly the reason why the sun roof models tend to rust there

500+ evo 5 rs  8)

tis all for now, although have replaced wheel bearing, bottom arm and needs two rear calipers, servo and various other bits, out of mot now aswell. need to get on
Title: Re: baby blue r5 gtt
Post by: baby blue r5 gtt on 21:59, Mon 23 November 2009
well had a weekend at the 5 replacing various bits have replaced with new

wheel bearings to rear

new discs and pads front and back

new steering rack

new trackrod ends

new brake servo (genuine bendix)

new battery

also left my industrial dehumidifier in for a few days took a few litres out of it  :o  so its a bit dryer inside now also cleaned interior as it had gone mouldy from been sat out in the damp for 3 months with no use, have come across a clean non turbo model and am off to scavange a few interior bits off it tomorrow such as carpet and plastics as mine are pretty scabby and clips are broken on most things, also getting the bonnet and grill which are very good condition and standard as i think i will put it too a more original state, now need a front bumper aswell due to my freind smashing it on a rather large drain cover while testing brakes but i think i will use the oppertunity to set the intercooler further in so i dont need to cut the bumper for it to fit and give a more standard sleeper look. also in need of one rear caliper, i did buy two which had been "reconditioned" but were actually completely shagged when they arrived good old ebay!!

to do now is

tracking

replace rear caliper

tidy interior with the bits i salvage

get the body work sorted

MOT!!!

one day il get it back on the road

scrap yards WIN!

black one is a gt turbo engine complete and 100% original, interior had been pillaged and its been moved about loads so is generally good for nothing  :(

above is a m reg campus absoutly mint or was until they put the forklift through it to put on top of the gtt, shell was 100% mint would of been ideal for a reshell and only

on the clock, no doubt garaged from new by one dithering old women who is now banned from driving due to her eyesight or something

scavanged bonnet and grill plus indicators and now have a standard ph2 front bumper, will be pushing the intercooler in over so it looks more original
(http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/ad182/ifindoubtflatout/jjj009.jpg)

what was left of my front bumper after a "freind" took it for a spin hence descision to make it look a bit more original

got a carpet from the campus as mine was a state, after removing old one it revealed some tin worm in drivers side foot well, all sorted now tho and carpet is in, no pics tho

other bits salvaged from the campus

original mats
original parcel shelf
various plastics
two boot struts as mine had over spray on
original boot carpet

everything was like new and so easy to get off and immaculate, there were mats covering the genuine mats it was that well looked after lol

will get some pics when snow goes

Good find.

I managed to salvage all the boot trim, including the arch covers for something daft like 5. Nearly walked off with the engine for something crazy like 20. You can use the bottom end with little modification and there more then likely to not have been driven as hard.

no lack of money doesnt help plus its under a foot of snow atm    started to cut out to get the intercooler behind the bumper but not been able to do anything for a few weeks, bought a few new suspension bits off cgb but waiting for them to come, once front bumpers on will try its luck with mot and get the spraying done once its sorted, also need two front seats as its only got campus ones in atm so will try to find a pair of buckets for it. also plan to get it off the ground and get it cleaned off underneath and waxoyld
