can anyone tell me what oil i should use in my turbo please :D
-
i use mobil 1 motorsport, it has to be mobil 1 motorsport as other mobil fully syn oils are to thin and it will blow straight out the back
-
what grade????
-
10w40 as far as i know.
-
15w50 valvoline
-
Might be a bit OTT for road use i think. 10w40 will protect well enough between 90-120c, theres no reason why the oil would get any hotter then that unless you do a lot of trackdays.
-
I use 20/50 but my car has a hard life :)
10/40 is plenty good enough for a normal road car :)
-
I likes ta use da mobile 1 15w/50 :D
-
so i want 10w/40 fully syn any make or is there 1 that wud be better?????

i agree with that i use mobil 1 motorsport 15w50 and it costs £50 every 2000 miles for oil change but its good oil and my car demands the best
-
I also agree with 15w50 as these have a chain driven engine and a slightly thicker grade oil is better for them. Silkolene or Mobil 1 are good oils.

I didn't mean you should fill up with some supermarket 'own brand' oil that costs about £10, you can still get branded quality oil at that rating. As i've already said that protects at 90-120c and considering my car never goes anywhere near 120c i don't see any benefit from using oil with a higher rating, but that suits me for what i use the car for. Obviously if you do a lot of track days or give the car a fair bit of stick then go for something that will protect at above 120c.

ive used both granville silver 10/40w and fuch semi 10/40w for road use with great results. i dont seem to lose a drop of oil. i also use molyslip along with this [but thats my pref ^^] its defently not required
[GSF have a special deal going with fuch oils...good value atm]

i got a 20 litre drum of 15/40 today for 22 bucks at costco.
its from chevron, yankie stuff. but i was using the gsf stuff before as i got it free from my girlfriends sister

Shell Helix 10 / 40 has never let me down. Only been able to buy it in Shell petrol stations which makes it a little pricey.

so is am i best to use part syn or fully syn?????? :(
