Title: struggles on full throttle
Post by: samcourtney86 on 20:52, Tue 26 June 2012
Hi, having trouble with my 5 gt turbo.  On full throttle it takes off then when on full boost seems to hit a wall and feels like the engines struggling/missing/hitting a rough limiter.  Any ideas?  Its a standard engine running standard boost but think someones fitted a group a carb.  Any help would be appreciated!  Thanks, Sam

Is there any black smoke, or maybe a smell of fuel inside the car?

With standard boost and a 'Group A' carb it is probably overfuelling.

No smoke or major smell of fuel.  My next step was swapping back to standard carb.  I know nothing about carbs so sorry if im asking stupid questions!  But..  could i just buy a second hand carb on ebay and fit it or would it all need setting up to get it to run properly?  Thanks for the advice!  Sam

If you have a standard engine and boost i would fit a completely standard carb, worth giving it a clean and reseal while its off just to make sure its all good before fitting
