Title: suspension woe's

i've a very loud squeeking noise coming from the driver front suspension up near the top mount,

what usually goes in these?

Is there any play in the suspension strut? The little top hats are known for either wearing oval or just falling apart.

i havent tried that yet, what parts are up there that could needing replacement

There's the metal cap (top hat), a bearing and a circle rubber block.

There are poly doughnuts for sale on ebay. I bought a set ages ago and keep forgetting to fit them.
