Title: carbon vented bonnets
Post by: robx1r on 17:09, Fri 16 September 2011
hey all i'm going to be putting a NACA vent onto my bonnet and then take a mold of it and replicate it.
my question is would there be interest in them? becuase i can save money on making the mold lighter (one use only) or i could make it stronger (more materials) but i'd have to be able to recoupe the cost of the mould on the bonnets i make.

it would be a direct replacement for the standard one.
it could be made out of pure carbon fibre, a carbon skin over fibreglass, or just out of fibreglass.

if admin/staff want to delete this i understand and sorry :)

It sounds like a good idea mate but everyone may not want a  naca duct so I would offer a plane unmodified version :-)

the mold would be the upper half and the lower half costing around 150 excluding labor per half then it all depends on the material
