Old Pearl
« on: 02:27, Sun 20 February 2011 »
Heres my Renault 5 Gt in Pearl White. Shes all original except for a baileys dump valve, but I have the original pipework should I need to go back to original.

I'm going to keep her original too, well I might change the wheels to these for now but keep the originals too as they're in excellent condition.

I tried them on the front and I think they look ok, but I will end up with a larger circumference putting my speedo and gearing out a bit.

I've not had to do much to her really, mostly a few electrical niggles to do with the instrument gauges and the electric windows. A bit of tuning/ servicing putting some pipework where it should be and unblocking the one way valves in the intake manifold. all thats left is a good polish and drive her around  8)

Very nice.

Get some 195/45/15 tyres for those clio wheels, and the rolling radius is exactly the same as standard wheels

I'll probably use the Clio wheels for general use, although it won't be used every day. I've only had the car a couple of months but have worked on a few years ago when I was working at a Renault specialist and always liked them. It was a one lady owner car then someone who worked in a bodyshop bought it resprayed it and fixed a few faults then stuck it in his garage for 5 years which kept the mileage to just over 60K. So it just needed a few bits sorted out a new exhaust and Mot.

It's a good idea about the tyres on the Clio wheels Bric, keeping the speedo and gearing right. I'll gert some more pictures up when I've finished cleaning it up I've been Machine polishing the paintwork and de-nibbing some parts where it wasn't finished after the respray one panel at a time, shes gonna look good in the sunshine - I hope  8)
