my 1990 white phase 2 gtt
« on: 20:33, Thu 19 March 2009 »
hi all. posted this in newbe section aswell, but thought better put it in this section aswell
this is my first one. so far its pretty good, its running 15psi. it has a few problems tho hopefully you guys can help
1. crunches when going into 5th
2.idles between 1000-2000rpm, stays about 1300 most of the time then hunts. checked for air leaks.
3.feul gauge stays at 1/4
4. front lights turn off then on when youve had the lights on for a bit
also i have random wires in the engine bay, but im gonna buy a haynes manual and see if it helps. car drives really well so im not that bothered. the fan is on a switch, which i find annoying!

spec is-
k-tec fmic
twin dump valves
exhaust system
boost pod
samco hoses
bleed valve
cone air filter
lowered
k-tec front bumper
badboy bonnet and a bonnet scoop(which i really dont like!)

Lose the front bumper and bonnet, replace with O.E and you're onto a winner. Looks good other than those :)

out of curiousity, is it the air intake or the "eyebrows" over the headlights that you hate?

I like eyebrows on 5 very much, mine has it also, but air intake is soo lame...of course that is just my humble opinion.

It wouldnt take very long to fit a new bonnet and white is a easy colour to match to get one painted up.
