ts not bad really, good spec for a clio and extras. someone has TRIED to paint the back arches so will have to sort them.

i plan using the 5 gt subframe, hubs, rack, struts but not strut tops and rear axle in the conversion

one out..

one in..

taking the engine out was no bother, gt engine went in ok but i used the 5 subframe and 1 off the bolt holes doesnt line up right so have 3 bolts in at the mo, had to use the clio steering rack, shochers and strut tops, 5 springs and shafts. today i have to put the hubs on to get it off the ramp for work tomorrow!
was wanting to tow it home so  didnt have to push it in and out of work everyday. prob get more done at work, wife might not be impressed at me being out in the garage every night. she still doesnt know what im doing, thinks im just fixing the clio to use to go back and four to work

paha!!

Nothing wrong with pink stripes mate.

Looks like you got a good bit done on it. Are you using GTT clocks in there?
And not thelling the wife, classic. Just wait till she needs to borrow it

cant see the wife asking for a shot o it somehow! the clio was just supposed to be a run about and im emptying my stash o cash on her.

well went back to it last night, finished bolting on the hubs only to have a main camber issue so i fitted the clio ones. put the wheels on and put it on the ground and have a huge tow in situation. driveshafts have no free play, the clio has a wider track so am going to have to fit the clio arms too i think  :?:

i dont have the 5 clocks anymore, clio s cable driven speedo and the 5 isnt, surely the car in front wont be speeding

Use the clio subframe/shafts & suspension, drill the hole for the gtt gearbox mount on subframe. Thats how i done it many years ago ;)

that would seem like the right thing to do but apart from wanting as much gt stuff on it as possible the clio subframe is soft, there is a hole on it. welding it aint a problem really just the 5 one is solid. may have to do that yet if the 5 arms dont fit tho

so i put the clio subframe on and got it towed home, got most of the bits for it now and have been busy polishing

its hard and boring work polishing alloy but looks good when its do, if it can be seen
i dont think the k&n blends in well tho!

this is what im hoping its going to look like when is done but for now ive this to contend with

the joy, not really that far away, had a few let downs holding me back but we can get round that

went through the wiring, twissled together the ones im needing and removed the rest. first turn of the key and the engine turned  :D
no spark, the clio plug for the crank sensor had 1 wire to it but the sensor has 2 so once i put the wire in i got spark  :D .
i then found what wire is for the fuel pipe so i need to run an igntion feed to this wire and it will go. wooohooo

just need to solder and tidy up the wiring. itching to take her for a spin now
