Fitting Dump Valve - Can anyone identify these? *photos*
« on: 14:09, Fri 20 February 2009 »
Hi there!! been fitting my dump valve and silicone hoses,
but, i have a couple of questions.....

here is photos of my car ...

All ive changed is the indicators and foglights, and its lowered 35mm, now fitting silicone hoses under the bonnet and cant work out a few things on the boost pipes...

QUESTION ONE...

where do i connect the vacuum? do i t piece it into the same hose that runs to the actuator?

QUESTION TWO...

this pipe here now has nowhere to go, because the dump valve is in the silicone hose, is it needed? what does it do?

QUESTION THREE...

These two wires connected onto some kind of sensor directly after the turbo (into the bend on the boost pipe) they now have nowhere to go. is it a boost sensor? is it needed?

Id really apprecaite any help sorting out these problems, i dont want to do it wrong, and would like to be able to drive my car home from work later on :)

thank you for all your help
james

Picture 1) That pipe 't's into the vacumn pipe running from the base of the carb to the AEI.

Picture 2) That pipe is something related to the anti-perc fan, probably not needed but not sure, i've removed all those parts.

Picture 3) Those wires are for the overboost sensor fitted in the original boost pipe, not needed. Cover the 2 ends up and stash it away somewhere so it doesn't just dangle around the engine bay.

You could point the perc fan hose at the carb so it still cools it a bit. I think its controlled from a stat looking thing in the side of the inlett manifold, just under the carb.

Thanks for that i will do just that!

The pipe that goes to the AEI was plastic and just cracked and shattered when trying to t piece it in, so ive had to leave it unconnected. where abouts does it lead to inside the car, does it go to the rear of the clocks? I want to replace the whole lot with silicone hoses,

thanks and sorry this is the last question!!

If it's the pipe that goes from the rear of the carb into the bulkhead then don't put your foot down with that disconnected. It doesn't go into the car, if you lift the plastic cover from around the bonnet catch you will be able to see more clearly where it goes into the AEI.
