Im not a full member on there yet, hope to be soon.

Well, big change to the plans of the r5 now. The car developed a knocking noise a few weeks ago so i decided to get the engine out and see whats going on.

The engines out and at the garage now...took the sump of and it was full of shars of metal...after further inspection it looks like its the shells.

 :(

Im thinking of getting the engine rebuild with the following...

T2/T25 Turbo
270 Piper Cam
Ported & Polished Head
FMIC
Rebuilt Carb
Tarabusi Piston Kit
Reground Crank
Shells
Oil Pump Kit
Engine Bay Loom
Clutch

I would like to get it done but was thinking would it be wiser to buy a gt turbo which has allready had the work done and keep mine standard...

Your thoughts would be much appreciated.

As you say you could by another gtt with all the work done but then who's to say the work was done correctly and not fudged. I know Tony and have seen his work and he takes alot of pride in what he does it's alot of money but probably worth it. Why not do the work yourself?

I would like to try to do the work myself but i think if i did it would take a while.

The good thing is is that once the works been done it will have a sound engine and nice solid shell. Be like a new car.  :)
