My Clio Gtt (W.I.P)
« on: 21:10, Mon 10 November 2008 »
Well since ive been on here for a wee bit ..i thought i would post some pics of my progress of my clio build. Im still building it at the mo.

Engine has had a full rebuild 10k ago previous owner showed me reciepts  :)

My clio before i took it off the road -

So i took it off the road after FCS 08 for the conversion.

I got engine out ..was greeted with this-

As you can see ..pretty rusty ..it then got welded and patched up..new inner wing, treated and sprayed gloss black.

After that ..treated subframe ..painted it with a anti-rust paint -

Engine on frame-

Then engine into car -

Thats all soo far ...as u can see im using a t25 turbo which i span housings on.  At the mo ive got to sort some wiring out. Then figure out which pipes goes where as im new to the 5gtt engine.

Ill hopefully be updating this in the next few weeks. Its been a learning curve as this is my first engine conversion

Talking about sleepers.  Me and my brother were driving along, a MICRA bombed it past us, we couldn't keep up.

God knows what he had under that bonnet.

Before these pics i also fitted the driveshafts, supension and brakes.

Got a bit of progress done today :)

Fitted both wings and wheels -

Then i took pics of the wiring me and iain started on yesterday.
Confusing to say the least-

Wires i dont think i need-

Also fitted my Forge FMIC

Intercooler all piped up -

As you can see its gunna be a tight squeeze for the radiator  -

Now a random top shot -

I tried the bumper on ...it sits snuggly behind it ...i need to sort out bolting the intercooler to the front crossmember before fitting bumper ..it got too dark to get the drill out.

As for wiring ...im considering on paying for a auto electrician to come out and check its all good before i wrap it up and tidy it :)

Should be for the new year in january.  Got a mate coming round with a multimeter this weekend to test wiring.

Also need to collect some pipes and clio 16v seats from me mates in manchester at end of december.  So really just building the car up :)
