My pics of my old cars
« on: 17:39, Mon 01 September 2008 »
Not sure it should be in this forum, but thought I would throw some pics up of my car history  :D

OK, had a white MK2 XR2, which was getting long in the tooth, so replaced it wth a 2i:

was nice and clean............ for 6 weeks:

88ft long skid marks, and resulted in this:

So........ next up was an Escort RS Turbo:

However, this thing had constant problems

so, was ditched in favour of another little XR2

which again...... didnt stand around for long:

so replaced that with a white one

However, this feel to the great tin worm.

So, I decided time to stop messing with Fiestas........... and bought a cossie:-

again, this was constanly broken (driveshafts, eng mounts)

so, took it off the road and got another turbo

Then decided to try a 2.0 16v Nova Van for a laugh

Loved that, dont know why I sold it.

Here are some others I have had so far too

Graphite 205

Black 205

RSTurbo cabbie

Clio 16v

A cool collection of cars you've had over the years mate. Agree with you about the RS Turbo's being problematic. I had an F plate white one and it was always bloody broken.

Cossies as well aren't renound for their reliability but my Escort Cosworth was brilliant. It never missed a beat.

That Nova looked a lot of fun. The 2L conversion seemed popular in the early to mid nineties but I haven't seen a Nova for ages.

Welcome to the site... I'm partial to the mk2 XR2 heres the ones Ive had !!

Had this about 6 years ago..Most reliable car ive ever had !! Sold it and bought an Escort RS Turbo (big mistake) and the engine went 2 weeks after I bought it. Got engine sorted and sold it !!

A couple of years later bought this one...Was well slow for some reason so sold it...

And bought this of the missus brother as it seemed alot quicker than either of my previous XR2's. Turned out it had a 1800 cvh bottom end from a sierra, the fun I had in that with unsuspecting cars until the bottom end went...

You're right about the CVH engine  I estimate i spent about 6k on my S2 RST whilst I had it. Fecking thing

Always had a soft spot for the XR2's especially the MK1's although I've never owned one.

That is one sexy black XR2!   8)

Great to see some again.  I had a Blue mk2 XR2..  my mate had an immaculate Red MK1 XR2...and my Bro had a nice Silver MK1 XR2.

I went for a Black Fiesta RST after that.. and went crazy spending on it thinking I'd never sell it.. but good fun at the time   :D

Like seeing all the old skool cars

Always liked the Mk2 XR2, I had 1 in Red with the Turbo Technics conversion, Unfortuantly the old girl suffered with a small rust problem so she was sold on to someone who could fix it all (There was a hell of a lot of rust). Not as much as fun as my 5 though :)

I'd have sold my right foot for a XR2 with the legendary Turbo Technics conversion...  I had a few dirty dreams about owning one like that back in the day! lol

I knew someone with a Black MK2 with a RST engine...  but it always had problems...  remember chasing after him and just seeing smoke in front of me!  but still wanted it!

It was all about having the colour coded kit and RS alloys...  (not mine)
