Long time.. alot of work..
« on: 09:32, Thu 20 December 2007 »
Hey guys..

Last time i posted on here my GTT looked something like this..

Some of you may remember, since then i've been getting some bits done and come to the decision of using it on the track but keeping it road legal..

Prepare yourself for a long post with alot of pictures..

Next it looked like this

I was going to leave it there and just put it on the road, but then done some thinking and started to investigate the whole car and came across this..

Soooo.. i started to strip the whole lot down, i'll just post the pictures as they say a 1000 words..

On the morning of travel to have some cosmetic sergery..

I'll continue when my pc has cooled down  8)

here the work starts..

Firstly the fuel cap is removed and smoothed over..

Next the rot and rust was attacked..

Bumper brackets made up..

Seals attacked..

Bumper done..

Thats all the pictures i have at the moment, the car is now done cosmetically.. Seals sorted both sides, arches done, bumper done, engine bay done, floor done.. i'll try and update later today with it all.

What you all think?

Thats some great welding, do it right the first time and you wont have to worry about rust ever again.

Where are you moving the fuel filler to?

The rust never ends with these things.. I've not found anymore on mine yet so everything is good still.

Got my hands on a 2nd engine for free so in the process of rebuilding that to race spec, costing alot.

my previous engine is back in with a bigger turbo so i should have the chance soon to actaully drive one of these things properly on the road  :D  :D
