black phase 2
« on: 18:48, Fri 24 August 2012 »
hi, i have had a couple of 5's now but i have treated myself to this one. i cant take any credit at the moment for the work but it will is by no means a finished project.

the engine is only 2k old with a lot of uprated parts, the body has good paint and the interior is tidy with a nice set of flocked door cards

hope you like

jobs on the list are

a good detailing session
sit the front better in relation to the rear
a side exit
the T25 is quite laggy for some reason
paint the alloy scuttle tray cover
bleed the brakes
was tempted to read up on the clio dash swap but not sure

thanks
adam

That looks great :) really nice example!

What are you going to be using on the detail? Black is a the worst to keep looking fresh, but well worth it for the ten minutes that it does

thanks for the positive comments.

the black is worse than i ever imagined for keeping clean. i have yet to do it but i will do the usual

snow foam
2 bucket wash with citrus wash
clay
menzerna 3.02 but on a medium/soft pad
megs show glaze
dodo juice banana armour for the hard finish (prefer purple haze but the black needs all the protection it can get).

got some touches coming so pics will be along in a week or so.

i gave the old girls a little polish and have also been buying a few bits.

here are a couple of pics

i bought these but have changed my mind so back up for sale

i am a sucker for anything shiney (engine brace)

had a little clean but still needs some time spent on it

It's looking great already bud  8) shiny bits are always good.

Have you noticed much difference with Dodo's hard and soft waxes? I've only ever seen a few weeks extra from the hard ones. None of them have ever let me down though :)

thanks.

Like you say not a huge difference but the hard is defo more durable i think but you have to be careful what you shampoo the car with once its on as the likes of snow foam or a citrus based shampoo will strip it off in no time (found this out the hard way   )

i use purple haze soft through the summer months but i always rely on banana armour through the winter for the tuffer layer.

i would like to play with some other makes of  waxes but it only takes a tub or 2 before it gets very expensive.

my latest love with the black car is Poorboys blackhole. (its a god send for those light swirls it really fills them in with such little effort).
