I can pick a block up by myself. I doubt it's over 200KG.

I took a complete engine with all the ancilleries out the boot of mine earlier and it's nowhere near 200kg, either that or them 3 shredded wheat are kicking in!  :D (Saying that,it was friggin heavy...)

It's deffo the shredded wheat!  :D  I reckon I'm getting an extra 10 to the gallon now I've taken it out of the boot.I'd left it in there until someone could give me a hand taking it out,but same ole shit, might as well do it yerself.......

im assuming your trying to decide between twin leg an single leg stands ?

single leg will do it fine, however they can be quite unstable, you need to be carefull manovering it about loaded up, it can and will tip very easy an it will proper damage the engine.
if you dont have a good flat level floor i strongly advise the twin leg.
also when you tip engine over if the head is still on it will be top heavy, using only the bar to turn/control it will go over, you need to stand side on an control the engine its self

could you pick up an engine block/head and put it in a car boot or is it a two man job?

Depends on how strong you are !

I managed it and nearly broke myself.
