Not touched the car for AGES,as been busy with the band, and havnt had funds,as lent a mate 2k,and im havin aMARE gettin it back!!      But its gettin sorted now...

RIGHT..............

Car now runs,(or have i already said that?    and to be honest, sein as its all new, runs like a dream!!! :top:  :top:  :top:  :top:

Ive gone for a pro alloy FMIC set up,as i want act`s and intake temps as low as poss,as all you ex 5 owners will know,is there BIG down side!!! :(  :(

Been told the cooler will be here tomorrow (touch wood) So ive been to get myself some new pipes to remount my cossie airfilter at the front where the old IC used to sit.. :top:  :top:

Had my mates mate, make me a section to join the 2 hoses (1 60,and 1 70),and looks really good, sein as it took him less time to make it,as it did for me to light a fag,and get half way down the fucker!!!

Ive sorted out too,a few electrical problems i had,ie windows/central locking..So now at least in therey EVERTHING works.. :top:  :top:  :top:  :top:

Somthis is how it stands tonight....

Ive been preping as many of the bits as i can at work,ie kit/bumpers.Took the back bumper off tonight, and the little sections on top of the rear lights...

My aim is now to have it painted, and all running for the end of the month, had enough of it just sitting there,so wanna pull my finger out,as i have this,AND the CBR6 just sittin there doing nothing.. :(  :(

So this thread will be updated alot more now ive got my incentive back..

OK..................

Coolers all in now, along with my Gordini turbo oil cooler, and ive mounted the fans a different way,ot see if it gives me any joy,no harm in trying, easy to put the right way if it doesnt work...

Im going away the for a week now,so im having a break from it,but il be back on it again soon... ;)  ;)  ;)  Im in the mood now!!!

Ok,im back....... :top:  :top:  :top:

Right, put the front end back on,seing where else i can "with in reason" trim the bumper for effective airflow....But tbh i think ive got what i want, going where i want,so its al good.. :top:  :top:  :top:

Bumpers and kit have been da`d at work,320`d all over,as i want the smooth look, not the genuine textured look...

New battery tray 53!!!!

Had a clean up in there, and sort some of that fuckin wiring out!!! :wall:  :wall:  :wall:

Also,as mine is a early phase 2 car,the Renex unit was stil mounted above the turbo like the phase 1 cars,so ive extened the wiring, and mounted it behind the bulkhead..Just got to get the OE plastic drain cover from renault now,as mine was abit tatty...

All getting very,AND I MEAN VERY tight in there now!!!! :woaw:  :woaw:

And finally,1st of my new brake callipers has come while ive been away... :top:  :top:

More as and when i do it.

Pete... :top:  :top:

Quite a project mate. Really bunch of work but i can see you're really enjoying.
Only one mistake from my standpoint. FMIC in front of radiator and T2 turbo. If you're going on bigger one forget that i wrote this :)

Great work!!!

Because standard T2 is blowing 10 psi and has capacity of IC 3200cm3 and you can increase boost max to 16psi on standard turbo and IC can cope with that. So you fit FMIC cooler with capacity of around 5300cm3 with (not in this case) longer pipework you'll have bigger lag cause turbo cannot "fill" such large capacity.

Just wanna add to not be missunderstood. This IC and other FMIC are great thing on larger boosts but  above 18-20psi they do not work full capacity.

I see your views, but i have had pro alloy coolers and products on my cosworths, and they have been spot on..I agree wit the lag statment, but the capasity of the cooler should be ok,for what im trying to acheive......

My real reason for going FMIC is cause i wanted as much "air flow" in to the car as poss, and keep running temps as low as poss..NOW,some might say that blockin off the main flow to the rad has hinderd that, but ive spoke to a few people who have used these pro alloy kits, and have had brilliant ACT`s and running temps...Alos,running a seperate oil cooler is cuttin the work the rad has to do too.I think the idea of water AND oil coolers though such a asmall rad was a STUPID idea by Renault.I wanted a direct feed in to the turbo from the air filter, and with theis IC ive managed to do that...

As ive said,im not after ground breaking figures, just a fun, cheep, reliable car to have abit bit of fun in when the weathers nice...

Any more views would be VERY appreaciated..

you picked the wrong car if you want reliable. they are a pain in the arse but very addictive.as soon as you repair one thing, something else goes wrong. you get used to it though :D
