hi mate its going to be painted in clio 182 extreme blue, i wanted a renault colour as its a renault lol wasnt mad on original paint it looked lifeless and didnt pop much in the sun, and the respayed wings bumper etc was just like arden blue off the vauxhall gsi, so i didnt want that either or people  thinking id painted the car in a vauxhall colour. so the 182 blue was a sure hit when i seen it, as it is right between the 2. thanx for your interest !

hi peeps just to keep you informed on the project as i havent been on here in a while. since the  last post the car has been welded, smoothed, flatened, primered & finally painted it was a lot of work to do but we are there now, and tubs and I are very happy lol. when i started the panels to the eye they looked quite straight with not many ripples and car park dents!. But once i had wet sanded a couple of panels it was clear the job was going to b a lot more envolved as the metal on a R5 is like play-doe and had stretched in places, so in short terms filling and flattening was a nightmare also the bonnet was hanging on in there as the hinges where knackerd and missing the circlips. 2 days work had to go into the bonnet and it still isnt perfect but is as good as i can get it without spending a fortune on new bonnet, hinges, louvres etc.the door cards are looking good and are getting all the right comments so im happy with the result of those now will talk more about them soon.other bits and pieces have been purchased along the way like the california mirrors (previous owner top bloke), a 1980 walnut porsche gear knob im still sourcing the steering wheel so havent got that yet, another teledial as spare, and new window rubbers and catches all round amongst other little bits. well im out for now loads more pics on way!!
