hi all names ben im 22 im a hgv mechanic, just started my first 5 gtt project thort i would get a thread going to show my progess as it happens :)
had it about two weeks now its not pretty but hopfully one day it will be lol this is the ad pic from when i brought it

when i  first got the 5 it didnt start or even spin over sorted that now removed and overhalled the starter the main starter solenoid was seized think from sitting around for so long, starts sweet now just gotta sort the fan and the alternator out now :) coz its not charging

as ya may have seen i do have 2 fives the other was free in the deal not much left of it but lots of bits in side the red one is the rolling shell

found these inside the shell the turbo is seized but does just about turn not sure wot one it is tho plus a dump valve have to get that on soon lol  :P

think i may have to nick the actuator off that turbo tested it at work opens at about 15 psi might blow the head gasket mind lol way off getting it on the road yet tho
still waiting for the haynes manual to sort the wiring out

now i have a haynes work shop manual hopfully if the weather is ok tomorow gunna sort the chargring out, had the dash out and checked the battery waring bulb thats ok coz thats part of the circuit would have been a nice fix  :(

Well at the moment yea just so much to do so its easy to make progress lol think i need to get a new alternator tho tested all the wiring and seems to check out wit the manual been working on the engine fan wiring tonite got that sorted just gotta run a new wire  :D

Tell me about it! I need to swap fuel line then change rad and sort fan out! And quick cos I'm quitting my job tomorrow :D

If ya need any help on fan wiring i seem to be not to bad lol
