My 1991 Raider
« on: 19:46, Tue 05 July 2011 »
Brought a Raider (I wanted just the turbo but ended up buying the whole car) It had a cracked liner so was sold as a non runner.

The plan is to fit the old engine from my five, clean it up and sell it.
Old engine removed

Bodyworks not to bad

Engine bay tided up and engine going in
Rebuilt T2/T25, ported head, 270 piper cam, modified card

Carpet cleaned

Seats back in, still need a clean

Outside glazed and waxed

Just need to fit 1 more hose (when it turns up), exhaust, oil and water and charge the battery then see if she runs

looks great and real tidy 8) .
Will be much better with the new engine in.

I was wondering though, is it a true raider or a "J" reg GTT painted raider blue?

The paint code is 449 sport bleu, but the engine bay came out a little light as its a pearl . I think it should be sprayed over black.

Ben.... It will be up for sale soon ;-)

Although the raider looks ok in the pics, the paintwork is a bit flat and orange peely. When I get a few spare hours im going to wet flat the whole car and machine polish it back to a nce level finish,

Heres a small area on the bonnet - Look at the sharpness of the reflection

Its prob the few that were left over from when the finished making the 5 and few hadn't been registered.
Thats all the J-plate 5's are, left over from H-reg period which hadn't been sold or registered.

I had a white J-reg years ago and this is 3rd J-reg Raider i've seen.
