Wrap looks good, I thinnk I will steal some of those ideas too!
I got a sheet of blue Hexis carbon wrap off ebay to trim a bit of the dash I was going to mod. It's a perfect match to my car and looks well smart. Gotta think of somewhere to use it now though as plans changed! Maybe I'll scrap the respray and just wrap the whole car.

Looking good mate. I've sold my Impreza now, thing was just crazy to run... I averaged 12mpg!

Only sold it last Saturday and I don't miss it at all tbh, which I find kinda weird. I do miss the R5 though lol, wish I had kept it and carried on playing now really. Currently getting the bus to work and I think it's going to stay that way, don't actually mind it and it's going to save me thousands! Passion definitely lives with these damn cars though, I will never stop thinking about them, just wish I had a garage really. Will definitely give them another go one day, maybe you can see it back to me when you're ready to move on

alright Olly, 12mpg, thats just mental fuel costs! shame you had to sell it, it looked like a nice car, although when you're at the petrol station every other day and the insurance is high getting rid of such a cash cow must feel good!

I'm totally hooked on 5's now, so don't think I'll be selling back to you for a while :o  Got so much I want to do with the car and a back log of parts to fit as well, just finding the time to get it all done is hard!

I'm currently torn between a complete strip down and respray and wanting to keep driving it...

As the 5 is my daily at the moment, due to my reliable 1st car not working for a while  , i'd had it with the hard ride so had to raise the car even more. Back and front shocks, back end is a bit of a mission but got it done and the drive is soooo much better, like a new car :D

Quick pic of the new ride height.

cheers dude, It shines up real well with a wash and wax 8) The interior is still a work in progress, I'm slowly trimming all the old grey plastic parts with the grey cloth and will be putting in a set of Valver leather seats I got off James5 when I've done it all. hope to get most done over christmas break so should have some pictures to show soon :D

bit of work done last weekend...picked up a 2ndhand boot on ebay a while back, my original one is rusted to bits under the rear window. Fitted this and now have a working rear wiper, heated window, original badge and water leak free!  :D  My 5's had a respray at some point with a slightly lighter grey and a blue and purple flick, so all the tungy bits look slightly darker, at some point ill get a respray again but at 100mph no one can see at the moment... 8)  BB sticker is coming off too looks a bit too Guildford Cruze for me...

couple of picys..

I'm scarred mine is crap too, so I'll hold back untill the result!

I have lots more to do on the car over christmas, steering is all over the place at the moment so I done some investigation work and found worn ball joints on the tie rods. The wishbones are very rusty and the bushes are looking worn. So I have ready to fit new tie rods and ball joints, new wishbones and bushes 8)

Nice to know i'm not the only one.

My steering seems 'sloppy' lately. I did have a quick look just to make sure everything was still attached and nothing obvious stood out.

I think my problem is the little UJ connecting the rack to the colomn.

Following an unsucessful attempt at this over christmas I borrowed an angle grinder from work and set about cutting off my seized wishbone bolts and replacing the old parts. I changed the wishbones and tie rods including the upper ball joints and tie rod ends. Also painted the subframe with some Hammerite metal paint as it goes straight on the rust and the ares where the angle grinder took the paint off.

Here are the pictures, there's lots of them!

Before

Found out why my turning circle was so crap, someone had put hose clips on the steering rack to stop the wheels hitting the arches when it was lowered. I've taken these off and I can now do a 3 point turn without well, 5 points...

The new parts

Old, saggy!

My accelerator cable popped off the clips and the outer got metled on the inlet manifold last week, had to do a bodge with a cut up plastic drinks bottle and lots of electrical tape to get home, worked a treat and drove round with it all week, although the peddle was a bit lumpy...

Put a new cable on over the weekend, the difference is like a new car, I was having issues with the peddle getting stuck before the outer melted and it was making the throttle open in big steps rather than a smooth stroke. Best 10 I've spent this year.

I recommend changing the accelerator cable to anyone that has a tight lumpy/sticky peddle.
