Changed spark plugs, ignition cables and exhaust the other day now the car is only firing 3 cylinders. Really don't know why   Owning a french car isn't easy I assume.

Remove the plugs and check their gap

Should be comparable in performance to a stock GT Turbo then? Not made for the UK market though from what i understand?

It was made for countries with very strict emission laws, mainly Germany.

not seen a R5 GTE before, what is the engine spec of the standard car?

Think they come with the 1.7 gtx engine, looked like a gt turbo but the go of a GTX

Exactly same engine as the GTX but fuel injected instead of carburated. Around 100 - 110bhp as standard.

Ohhh sorry.. missed the head & cam part, was too busy looking at the photos

What car did that throttle body come off ? and what sort of mods & bracket did it need ? & I presume you used the original TPS, right ?

Thats ok  :D

The throttle body is a tricky one, lots of people think its of the 2.0l but im sure mine came of a n/a 1.7, correct i just made an little adapter bracket to hold the original tps. Easy mod to do to  :D

Cheers    will try my luck around the scrap yards .. though there's not much Volvos here in Malta

Wouldn't happen to have a spare one ?

Nice ride mate! Well done for all the work

Kinda similar set-up to mine..

I'm thinking of changing the turbo too, most probably going for a 200sx T25/T28 ball bearing. Spools pretty fast and very good top-end too.

Did you do any head work ? or cam ? read somewhere that the n/a cam works better then the turbo one..

& are you running standard management ? At the moment all I have is a modded standard ECU (richmod .. maybe you'd know what it is) but I was thinking saving up some money and plugging a fully programmable unit.

Last time I bought from CGB (actually been a while now..) I made the payment over the phone using my credit card.

Maybe they changed their procedures now..

ohhh and I'm from Malta, so I don't think being from Greece should make any difference.

is the damage realy bad or could you mask up the black part then fill the cracks in the plastic and spray the centre section with vinylcoat, not ideal but a repair that could be done in situ

it's not that bad, till now! but Maltese roads are an utter nightmare and my car is fitted with GAZ coilovers..

Yeah could do but I'd prefer fitting a replacement then repairing my current one -- I think there are more cracks at the back where they can not be seen and may soon grow bigger

General Chat / Dashboard question
« on: 19:13, Sat 30 July 2011 »
Hi mates,

Well my dashboard centre (where the air vents, clock, knobs, ash tray, dials, etc. sit) is starting to crack in some places but the rest of the dashboard (where it has that 'leather' feeling) is still in very good nic. Can I replace all the centre but leave the rest in place ? cos I have a rollcage and its a nightmare to remove!!

Cheers  :D

David.
