Renault 5 GT Turbo / Re: Exhaust
« on: 12:50, Tue 07 June 2011 »
if you have a 2.25" exhaust you need a 2.25" downpipe or a suitible adaptor
bb tuning down pipe is 2.25 an fits a scopion ect fine [mike has one]
or i have used front sidey section 2.5 chopped my scorp up an welded a stepped sleeve on, now i can run sidey to make some noise or 10 min to change for a scorp for being civilized

or jus get a sidey an run 2.5

m6 1.00, ive got the lengths written down somewhere

the only imperial stuff is oil related, otherwise entire car is metric

next time it doesnt start, take the carb top off, spray some carb cleaner down the carb whilst cranking. if it starts its fuel/air problem if it doesnt its ignition.

my guess is carb related

i recon you'll be doin well to find a 'good clean car with a blown engine' for 500 bucks

remove in car boost put in bin, get someone that knows what they're doin to help you or to set the car up for you an leave it alone, untill you are ready to tune further

thats my advice for what its worth

Renault 5 GT Turbo / Re: Cam Question
« on: 12:44, Tue 08 March 2011 »
use a ruler

std 7.5mm
285 10.5

ruler should be adequate for 3mm difference, i know theres other cams but if its not atleast a 285 it might as well be std an should live in the bin, or be used to hit bad people on the head

Renault 5 GT Turbo / Re: Shifting in reverse
« on: 14:36, Mon 28 February 2011 »
i know it doesnt now, but did it before you changed the box ?

if it did id say adjust the selector rod, if it didnt maybe there is no collar mechanism for some reason

« on: 12:37, Mon 28 February 2011 »
did you have to pull the collar up for reverse before you changed the box ?

have you checked the linkage adjustment ?

Renault 5 GT Turbo / Re: how to set rear brake compensator
« on: 12:32, Mon 28 February 2011 »
drive it really fast, brake as hard as poss, if the backs lock up adjust it out till they dont

roller brake tester no good its a load compensator not a bias valve, but it will give you a good idea of what your brakes are doing

this is dangerous, pick your road/time carefully if the backs lock up let off the brake very quickly or you may end up in a mess. im not advising you do this jus saying an idiot could do it this way

Renault 5 GT Turbo / Re: Skyline T25 turbo, could it fit the R5?
« on: 08:32, Wed 08 December 2010 »
from memory the downpipe flange is different, the comp housing needs bolt on bits to fit hoses
i think 34 have gt25s on

when i looked into it basically wasnt worth the aggro an that was with getting them for free
