You can post here the general location you live so maybe you can arrange meets, or convoys to events.
We did have another but I deleted it by accident

Any of you not on RTOC, James wrote his car off this morning, he is fine with just a few bruises, from the sounds of it he is VERY lucky to be with us. He lost the car & rolled or flipped it a couple of times before coming to a rest on the roof
He seemed to think it was a total loss as front & rear were gone plus most of the glass & the sidey went.
After all that hassle  :(

Hope you get things sorted matey.

General Chat / What shall I do ?
« on: 18:33, Wed 22 June 2011 »
I'm going to run a little poll to see what others think as I'm a little stuck.
Do I persevere & finish the Raider, drop the turbo lump into the 19 or sell the 19 as it's near mint & could be a good standard car..
Let's see what people think..
The 5 will prob be fine when I put the new head on as I reckon it was the lifters..
The 19 is wider & not many turbo ones in the UK...
Both retro &  8)

Wiring pin outs, whats needed etc.

Complete engine & wiring loom inc the aux fuse box from a phase 1 as the ecu isn't coded. You should end up with a brown & white plug.  If you are taking the gearbox you need the clocks as well as they are cable driven & the GTT is electronic pick up.
You will need a GTX mount for the block, these are NLA from Renault so more than likely you will need to modify the GTT one, I will add pictures at a later date of my modified mount.
Manifold & downpipe will be needed as well unless you are going turbo   .

Here is a diagram of the F7P engine loom pin outs.

Also from another member the ecu pin outs

Some of the GTT pin outs I have identified so far.

R5 GTT loom plug

A1 alt reg (Yellow) thick
A5 reverse lamp (W)
A6 reverse lamp (Yellow)
A7 Starter sol (W) thick
B2 oil level (O)
B3 oil pressure (O)
B-4 oil level (brown)
B6 oil pressure (brown)
B7 alt reg (Purple)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OK, for anyone using the R19 phase 1 wiring this is what I have so far, admittedly I still need to check it all works  but will update.

R19 brown plug --------------------- R5 engine loom
C7 ---------------------------------------------A1
D4--------------------------------------------- A5
D6--------------------------------------------- A6
D7 ---------------------------------------------A7
B5--------------------------------------------- B2
B-4--------------------------------------------- B-4
C2 ---------------------------------------------B3
B7 ---------------------------------------------B6
D3 ---------------------------------------------B7

----------------------------------------R5 plug behind ashtray (just tap in with cable clamps)
C1 ---------------------------------------------B1
B1 ---------------------------------------------B7
B6--------------------------------------------- C1

Fuel pump wiring, the plug that is by the drivers footwell kick plate is the one that you need to find & use B7 (white).
A7 ---------------------------------------------B7
I actually cut the white GTT fuel pump relay wire & used that to feed the pump from the loom.

Still to look for this but apparently there is a black two pin plug under the dash somewhere, one wire is constant live, the other ign/switched
A6 + D1 Live feed + pin 6 ecu --------------------------Pin 1
C7 Switched ign feed+ pin 9 ecu----------------------Pin 2

Earth------------------ pin 2 ecu

Apparently the other plug (refered to the white plug for the clio loom conversion) isn't used at all on the R19 phase 1 wiring,  I need to check if any clio ecu works at all.

Here is the clio wiring diagram

Clio 16v loom---------------------------------------R5 loom
C7 ---------------------------------------------A1
D4--------------------------------------------- A5
D6--------------------------------------------- A6
D7 ---------------------------------------------A7
B5--------------------------------------------- B2
B-4--------------------------------------------- B-4
C2 ---------------------------------------------B3
B7 ---------------------------------------------B6
D3 ---------------------------------------------B7

----------------------------------------R5 plug behind ashtray (just tap in with cable clamps)
C1 ---------------------------------------------B1
B1 ---------------------------------------------B7
B6--------------------------------------------- C1

smaller white plug B-4------------- B7 drivers footwell (fuel pump)

I actually cut the white GTT fuel pump relay wire & used that to feed the pump from the loom.

Still to look for this but apparently there is a black two pin plug under the dash somewhere, one wire is constant live, the other ign/switched

Main plug B2 & D1/White plug A3 & A7 + pin 6 ecu------------------ Constant live
Main plug A1 & C7 + pin 9 ecu  ----------------------------------------------Switched live

Earth-----------------------Pin 2 ecu

I will test this & update it works.

Oil drain for turbo conversion.

Hole drilled

1/2" NPT Tap

Oil drain fitted in place.

Thought I'd post up a small spec sheet for the new WIP>

Fairly standard at the mo but here is a brief run down.
T28
FMIC
2 1/4 exhaust
Samco water hoses
poly bushed arb
lowered 50mm
standard speedlines painted black.

Plans are 285 cam, more boost & some 195/45/13 tyres for the standard rims.
I plan on leaving the car as standard looking as poss.

« on: 18:03, Mon 17 May 2010 »
Just a quick post about the new car.
99 Audi S3 Quattro, metallic black with black half leather with grey alacantra, standard & staying that way for a little while at least   .
Only mods I've done are braided brake lines & some new discs on the front.
It's a nippy little car & handles pretty well for standard IMO, got to get the rear arch done as it's just starting to blister, 175 to sort it..
pics to follow
