thanks ill take a look, i have about 6=8 weeks before i will be buying so im just scoping r5's atm, once it comes nearer the time ill go look at some. shame as well theres one not far from me, all it needs is side skirts and rear seats putting back in/on. last time i looked it was 500 apparently had a rebuild not so long ago.

(that one finished, forgot to stick it on the watch list,)

but something along the lines of this, needs work but not to much,

well long time no see for any one that remembers me, i had a r5 gtt raider, unfortanly the acuator pipe failed and it ate its head gasket at anything over 30psi as the gauge just shot round the gauge,
any way im up for another, ive had a e36 and currently so far a 306 xtdt, which has pump mods running 18psi. so this car will go to the gf in a few months and im looking for a r5 to keep me happy again!

main qestion, what price am i looking for the following
1. needs work, but drivable while doing so
2. half decent, not much needed, maybe bit of rust
3. good condition hardly any ifat all rust but standard as far as possible

(havent got cash fora mint one)

last time i was around mint ones were circa 1k and one looking sorry for its self around 400 quid, mine was good condition but not mint and would have got 700, ifit were not for the pipe

hope you guys can help, look forward to being around these cars again thanks

haven't stepped in to this forum for a very long time but have to comment on this...

there also the biggest pile of poo you will buy to. they blow up in matter of months then you get stuck with them aftyer being told "you must have turnt them up to much" which is bullsh!t as the sub does the talking and the speakers are purely mid and high, as bass is set at -8 and mid is -2 treble +3, so they talk utter crap, avoid

go to halfords there not expensive and in fact do very good deals

JUST TO AD TRY FABING A TEMPERY FUSED LIVE AND EARTH AND SEEING IF THE FAN DOES WORK JUST START THERE, THEN TEST THE RAD SENDER WITH A MULTI METER, AND AFTER THAT IF ITS NOT A FUSE ITS THE RELAY

ok wrong and wrong , firstly is the over boost sensor connected,
i did exactly the same thing when i got my 5, asked exactly the same qestion and got exatly the right awnser to the right soluition,if the boost sensor is fitted it will sence over boost and cut ignition to protect killing the turbo and engine

and secondly its ethier a rad sender relay or fuse fail,

you can fit a huge fmic and still sit it behind the bumper and grill, but defently a fmic is better, as more air flow over it and also less likly to soak heat from engine as ash says

r5's didnt come with dumpvalves,
so, if a 5 stayed standard all its life it would have had compresser surge from the day it left the factory, i think its the other way round, bigger turbos die quicker with compresser surge, dont forget they spin alot faster than a small t2
